As the University of Northern Philippines ushered in the new year, it also celebrated another milestone in academic quality and institutional excellence following the successfully attainment of Level IV Re-accredited status from the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines, Inc. (AACCUP) of two program offerings.
The Technical Review and Board Action issued by the AACCUP was formally released through its Executive Director, Dr. Milabel Ho, and officially received by University of Northern Philippines (UNP) President Dr. Erwin C. Cadorna.
The Bachelor of Science in Psychology and the Bachelor of Science in Social Work programs achieved the highest level of accreditation conferred by the AACCUP, highlighting their exemplary performance in key areas of academic excellence. The recognition reflects the programsโ strong research productivity, impressive graduate performance, effective community service and extension initiatives, sustained international linkages and collaborations, and sound strategic planning mechanisms. These strengths foster enriched, learner-centered academic environments, enhance professional training, and significantly improve graduatesโ employability. Furthermore, the programsโ active community engagement and global initiatives affirm UNPโs continuing role as a vital partner in community development, social transformation, and nation-building.
This achievement stands as a testament to UNPโs unwavering commitment to quality assurance, outcomes-based education, and continuous improvement across its academic programs, efforts that directly benefit students, faculty members, the wider community, and the institution as a whole. The favorable accreditation results highlight the UNPโs sustained initiatives to align its academic offerings, policies, and systems with national and international standards, ensuring that instruction, research, and extension remain relevant, effective, and responsive to the evolving needs of society.
The successful accreditation outcomes were made possible through the collective leadership, dedication, and shared responsibility of the College Deans, Program Heads, faculty members, and support units who worked collaboratively throughout the rigorous accreditation process. For faculty, the exercise served as a meaningful platform for professional growth, instructional enhancement, research productivity, and deeper engagement in extension and innovation activities. For the University, the accreditation further strengthened institutional credibility, enhanced stakeholder confidence, guided strategic planning and evidence-based decision-making, and increased eligibility for grants, partnerships, and academic linkages. Ultimately, these achievements position UNP to sustain excellence, expand opportunities, and continuously fulfill its mandate of providing quality, accessible, and socially responsive higher education in the years ahead.
The accreditation survey visit by the AACCUP of the BS in Psychology and BS in Social Work was held on August 11 โ 13, 2025.
