UPLB Research and Extension UPLB Research & Extension is the official page of the Office of the Vice Chancellor for R&E

The Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research and Extension (OVCRE) is the unit in charge with UPLB's research and extension programs and activities. The office also handles staff development of personnel in the research, extension, and professional staff categories and assist in resource generation and establishment of linkages in R&E. Lastly, OVCRE promotes and reports R&E activities to the pub

lic. For this purpose, this official page was created to communicate R&E-related updates, news, upcoming activities, and accomplishments to the public.

📣 CALL FOR PROPOSALS: NCCA COMPETITIVE GRANTS PROGRAM 2027

The National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) officially opens the Call for Proposals for the CY 2027 Competitive Grants Program.

Anchored on Republic Act No. 7356 or the NCCA Charter, the program provides financial assistance to individuals, cultural workers, NGOs/POs/IPOs, NGAs, LGUs, SUCs, and organizations whose projects contribute to the development, protection, preservation, promotion, and dissemination of Philippine arts and culture.

NOTE: All proponents must first secure NCCA Accreditation and must not have any unliquidated grant or derogatory record with the NCCA or any government agency.

UPLB showcased its high-impact extension and public service programs on May 12 as part of its ongoing institutional assessment for ASEAN University Network-Quality Assurance certification.

The exhibit featured 13 programs and technologies grouped per UPLB AGORA Focus Hub:

▪️Food Security and Sovereignty Hub: BIOTECH technologies, Project SARAI, Project MOCHA, Farmer-Scientist Training Program, and UPLB Bee Program

▪️One Health Hub: BIDANI

▪️Resilience and Sustainability Hub: SPIDTECH, Makiling Center for Mountain Ecosystems, Rapid Test Kits for Pesticide Residue, and NICER CAVES Program

▪️Future Communities and Institutions Hub: UPLB DUNONG Program

▪️Social Justice and Cultural Flourishing Hub: Kalinga sa Eskwela and the UPLB Ugnayan ng Pahinungod

We are proud to announce that UPLB has been selected as a Round 1 Host Institution for the Indo-Pacific Scholarships & Fellowships for Canadians (IPSFC) Program!

The IPSFC is an initiative supported by Global Affairs Canada, which marks a significant milestone in UPLB's commitment to internationalization of research.

As early as July 1, 2026, UPLB will be opening its doors to faculty and graduate students from Dalhousie University for collaborative research placements.
