The program is being proposed as a joint academic offering of the College of Forestry and Natural Resources (CFNR) and the College of Agriculture and Food Science (CAFS).

Pinangunahan ng Department of Forest Biological Sciences (DFBS) ang buwanang Flag-Raising Ceremony ng College of Forestry and Natural Resources (CFNR), na isinagawa bilang pakikiisa sa pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng Wika ngayong Agosto.

Sa kanyang mensahe, binigyang-diin ni DFBS Chair Dr. Crusty E. Tinio ang kahalagahan ng pagkilala at pagpapahalaga sa ibaโ€™t ibang wika at kultura. Hinikayat niya ang CFNR community na patuloy na pahalagahan ang sariling wika at huwag hayaang maliitin ang sariling kakayahan dahil lamang sa paggamit o impluwensiya ng mga banyagang wika.

Samantala, sa kanyang mensahe, tinalakay ni CFNR Dean Marlo D. Mendoza ang usapin ng kawalang-katarungang pangkapaligiran o environmental injustice, at hinikayat ang lahat na higit na unawain ang kalagayan ng mga marginalized o higit na naaapektuhang komunidad. Binigyang-diin niya ang pangangailangang kumilos upang magkaroon ng makabuluhang pagbabago at hamunin ang mga umiiral na istruktura ng kapangyarihan na maaaring magsamantala sa mga mahihina at maralita.

Sa pamamagitan ng pagdiriwang ng Buwan ng Wika, muling pinaalalahanan ang CFNR community na ang wika, kultura, at pagkilos para sa katarungan ay mahalagang bahagi ng pagbuo ng isang mas inklusibo, makatarungan, at mapagmalasakit na lipunan. ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿ‡ต๐Ÿ‡ญ

The College of Forestry and Natural Resources (CFNR) gratefully received a cash gift from the BS Forestry Class of โ€™82 to support the establishment of a student pantry at the CFNR Office of the College Secretary (OCS).

The pantry will provide food and other essential items to help address the immediate needs of CFNR students, fostering a more caring and supportive environment within the College.

Present during the turnover were Class โ€™82 representatives Dr. Leonida Bugayong, For. Florita Siapno, Dr. Maria Cielito Siladan, and For. Emelyn Espiritu.
