USM College of Trades and Industries (CTI) 🇵🇭 and Vanuatu Institute of Technology (VIT) 🇻🇺 discussed Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) initiative and a proposed Faculty Exchange Program on May 11, 2026.

Trainer Mr. Karl Alvin Advincula, a USM-CTI alumnus currently deployed by Suzuki Japan in Vanuatu stated: “As an alumnus of this institution, this is a great opportunity to make a difference for the future by engaging with international partners and promoting global collaboration in education.”

Four graduating students emerged as top awardees during the CTI Student Research In-House Review held on May 5, 2026, at the CTI Main Building.

Paulo G. Rapuza, a fourth-year BTVTEd major in Electrical Technology, clinched Best Paper and Presenter in the Social Research category. Meanwhile, Bernaline B. Bedasua, a fourth-year BSIT major in Drafting Technology, secured the same honors in the Applied Research category.

In the poster competition, Bejay S. Bacus, a BTVTEd major in Drafting Technology, earned Best Poster in the Social Research category, while Shane T. Dabuco, a BSIT major in Drafting Technology, took home Best Poster in the Applied Research category.

The four awardees will represent CTI in the upcoming USM Student In-House Review on May 19, 2026.

Congratulations to the 10 new TESDA Technical Drafting NC II passers, all proud 3rd Year Bachelor of Technical-Vocational Teacher Education (BTVTED) students from the College of Trades and Industries (CTI).

These newly certified passers successfully completed the National Certification II on Technical Drafting held on April 23–26, 2026, at Sultan Kudarat State University–Isulan Campus, Sultan Kudarat.

More than a testament to their technical skills, this achievement reflects their dedication, perseverance, and unwavering commitment to excellence in the field of drafting and design.

Congratulations to the 71 new TESDA Automotive Servicing NC I passers who successfully took the National Certification on December 2025 and are now newly certified automotive servicing technicians.

Out of the 71 passers, 69 are Automotive Technology major students of BS in Industrial Technology and 2 faculty members, namely Roberto L. Gornez, PhD and Alkabir A. Sanchez, from the College of Trades and Industries (CTI) achieving a remarkable 100% passing rate.

Their success highlights not only their proficiency in technical skills but also their hard work, determination, and steadfast pursuit of excellence in the field of automotive servicing.

Congratulations to the 8 new TESDA Technical Drafting NC II passers who are proud USM alumni — 7 from the College of Trades and Industries (CTI) and 1 from the College of Education (CEd)— achieving a remarkable 100% passing rate.

They successfully took the National Certification on March 26, 2026, at SKSU Isulan, Sultan Kudarat, and are now newly certified CAD Operators and Architectural Drafters with electives in Structural Details.
