The BSBA Department successfully concluded the final leg of Project 1 under the IMPACT Program through today’s extension activity entitled “Workshop on Micro Investing.”

The session served as an eye-opening and empowering discussion for the participants as they were introduced to the importance of investing and the advantages of starting early rather than postponing financial growth opportunities. Today’s resource speaker, Ms. Charmaine Shanina Demin, emphasized that investing is not only for the wealthy, but can also be accessible even to beginners through proper financial knowledge and discipline.

Participants were introduced to beginner-friendly digital investment apps as well as government investment programs that can help them start their investment journey with small and manageable amounts. The workshop aimed to encourage the community to develop smart financial habits and build a mindset focused on long-term financial security.

One of the highlights of the activity was the sharing of insights and learnings by the participants from the very first session of Project 1 up to today’s workshop on micro investing platforms. Their reflections showed how the series of activities under Project 1: “Money Matters: Financial Literacy for Everyday Life” helped improve their understanding of saving, budgeting, financial discipline, and investing.

As Project 1 officially comes to a close, the BSBA Department looks forward to reconnecting with the participants this coming August for the implementation of Project 2.

Through programs like IMPACT, the BSBA Department continues its commitment to empowering communities through practical and relevant financial literacy initiatives.

The BSBA Department successfully conducted another meaningful extension activity today, May 8, 2026, in Barangay Catadman under the IMPACT Program, highlighting the importance of financial literacy and responsible money management among community participants.

This afternoon’s session, entitled “Smart Money Habits Coaching Session,” was facilitated by Dr. Ruchel A. Navarro as the 3rd activity under Project 1: “Money Matters: Financial Literacy for Everyday Life.”

During the discussion, Dr. Navarro emphasized the common reasons why many Filipinos struggle to save money and shared practical smart money habits that participants can apply in their daily lives. She stressed that at the heart of financial success lies one essential factor — financial discipline. According to her, smart money habits can only be achieved through consistent financial discipline, and with it, anything is possible.

The BSBA Department remains committed to empowering communities through relevant extension programs that create positive and lasting impact.
