Pursuant to Republic Act No. 6721, as cited by the Office of the City Mayor of Dagupan, November 13 has been declared Special Non-working Holiday in the entire Province of Pangasinan and in the City of Dagupan. This is to commemorate the birth anniversary of the late Speaker Eugenio Padlan Perez, of the first Congress. He played a pivotal role in authoring R.A. No. 170, which led to the elevation of Dagupan to cityhood in 1947.

LNUFAAF, Inc. Conducts Ocular Visitation on Community Projects

Dagupan City, Philippines– The LNUFAAF, Inc., in partnership with its Alumni Relations Office, recently conducted an ocular visitation of the various community projects initiated by the organization in the city. The projects, aimed at empowering women, children, and LGBTQ+ communities, have been ongoing since last year under the leadership of Dr. Bernadette V. Abella.

The ocular visitation was led by Dr. Abella, the LNUFAAF, Inc. President, and Mr. Eroll C. Bravante, the Head of the Alumni Relations Office. The team visited the sites where the projects are being implemented, including candle making, dishwashing liquid making, relyenong bangus (stuffed milkfish), and chili oil making. These initiatives have been providing livelihood opportunities and skills training to approximately 1000 individuals within Dagupan City.

Dr. Abella expressed her satisfaction with the progress of the projects, highlighting their positive impact on the community. She emphasized the importance of empowering marginalized groups and providing them with the necessary tools to improve their lives.

Mr. Bravante added that the Alumni Relations Office is committed to supporting the organization's community development efforts. He expressed his belief that these projects can serve as models for other communities to replicate and benefit from.

𝗝𝗨𝗦𝗧 𝗜𝗡 | Lyceum-Northwestern University’s Millen Salvacion De Jesus secures the 7th rank in the Optometry Licensure Exam (OLE)
Dr. Millen Salvacion De Jesus from the L-NU College of Optometry ranked Top 7 in the October 2024 Licensure Examination for Optometrists, averaging 88.09%. Dr. De Jesus of the Class of 2024 also graduated Magna Cum Laude and earned the ‘Most Proficient in Clinical Areas’ award. L-NU also recognizes its 22 new Optometrists.

DR. RICKY B. MACARAEG - Dr. Paco Dalinayan Outstanding Alumni Award - Special Recognition in Law-Justice 2024

Ricky Baysic Macaraeg, a respected figure in both the medical and military fields, has built a distinguished career that bridges healthcare and national service. A graduate of the Doctor of Dental Medicine program in 1997, Macaraeg has since dedicated his life to public service, rising to become the 31st Battalion Commander of the 543rd Engineer Construction Battalion, 53rd Engineer Brigade, Philippine Army. His leadership in this position has been vital in overseeing critical infrastructure projects and engineering efforts that support the nation's development and military operations.

Throughout his military career, Macaraeg has received numerous awards and honors in recognition of his dedication and excellence. These accolades include the prestigious Military Civic Action Medal, Gawad sa Kaunlaran, Parangal sa Kapanalig, Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) Medal, Sagisag sa Ulirang Kawal, Military Merit Medal, and the Military Commendation Medal. Each of these awards highlights his commitment not only to military service but also to humanitarian efforts, disaster relief, and civic action that benefit communities across the Philippines. His service embodies the values of leadership, discipline, and compassion in both his medical and military careers.

Mr. ALDWIN DV. ILAW - Dr. Paco Dalinayan Oustanding Alumni Award - Special Recognition in Allied Health 2024

Aldwin De Vera Ilaw, a distinguished leader in the field of nursing, has made significant contributions to healthcare in the Philippines. Graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2009 and a Master of Arts in Nursing, majoring in Nursing Administration in 2017, both from Lyceum-Northwestern University, Ilaw's academic achievements laid a strong foundation for his professional journey. Currently serving as the President of the Philippine Nurses Association Inc. – Pangasinan Chapter (2024-2026), he is also on the Board of Directors of the Philippine Society of Emergency Care Nursing Inc. at PGH Manila. His leadership extends to the Region 1 Medical Center, where he holds the position of Vice President of the Employees Association (2024-2028) and serves as a key member of the Personnel Promotion and Selection Board.

Ilaw's remarkable career is marked by several notable accomplishments. He was named the Most Outstanding Vice President of the Philippine Nurses Association Inc. in September 2023 at Teatro Ilocandia, Ilocos Norte. Additionally, he played a crucial role in leading Region 1's response to the Covid-19 pandemic, spearheading the establishment of isolation facilities and the vaccination program from 2020 to 2022. His dedication to the profession is further reflected in his role as the overall chairperson for the Oath Taking of New Nurses in Region 1, in partnership with the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) for 2023-2024. His leadership and contributions continue to shape the future of nursing and healthcare in the region.

MS. MELINDA B. ARAMBULO - Dr. Paco Dalinayan Outstanding Alumni Award Special Recognition in Allied Health 2024

Melinda Bautista Arambulo, a distinguished leader in the pharmaceutical industry, has made significant contributions to the healthcare sector in the Philippines. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy in 1997 at Lyceum-Northwestern University and has since risen to prominence through her leadership roles. As CEO and President of RPH Pharmaceutical Distributor since 2013 and RPH Drughouse in Tacloban City since 2021, she has overseen the growth and success of these enterprises. Her involvement in the Drugstore Association of the Philippines (DSAP) as President from 2018 to 2024 and as Auditor of the Region 8 Pharmacist Association reflects her dedication to uplifting the pharmaceutical community in the country. Additionally, Arambulo is an active member of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce in Tacloban, Leyte Chapter.

Arambulo’s accomplishments have been recognized through various awards and honors. In 2023, she received the prestigious DASIG Award in Innovation for her groundbreaking work in service, innovation, and governance. Her leadership was further acknowledged in 2024 when she was conferred an Honoris Causa Doctorate in Business Administration by THAMES International in Bangkok, Thailand. The same year, she was honored with the Asian Education and Leadership Award, solidifying her position as a trailblazer in both the pharmaceutical and business sectors. Her unwavering commitment to innovation and leadership continues to inspire many within and beyond the industry.

DR. DARWIN S. SUPERIO - Dr. Dalinayan Outstanding Alumni Award in Accountancy-Business 2024

Dr. Darwin S. Superio has made significant contributions to the healthcare landscape of Tarlac through his visionary leadership and strategic partnerships. By establishing extensive collaborations with all Local Government Units (LGUs) across the province, Dr. Superio has ensured widespread access to quality healthcare services. His LUGUD Program, launched in 2023, is a testament to his commitment to providing compassionate, people-centered care to every community.

Dr. Superio's dedication to community engagement is evident in his initiatives, such as the "Kamustahan at Kapehan" sessions with Barangay Health Workers and the Focused Learning Experience (FLEX) program. These initiatives have fostered stronger relationships between healthcare providers and the community, leading to a more collaborative and effective approach to addressing health concerns. Dr. Superio's achievements have not gone unnoticed, as evidenced by Central Luzon Doctors' Hospital receiving the prestigious "Best Hospital in Strategic Partnership and Referral Marketing" award at The Heart of the Filipino Healthcare Awards in 2024.
