As the final day of Daluyon Camp 2026 continued following the presentations from each LSC and UWO, SSC Pres. Robert presented the tally of scores from yesterdayโ€™s โ€œGrand Line Journey,โ€ where Marahuyo Crew earned the highest number of points, followed by Mapagpalaya and Maalab Crews, respectively.

Following the exciting atmosphere, he then discussed the meaning behind this yearโ€™s camp icons: the wave and the compass. He explained that the wave represents the three core concepts of the camp โ€” Siak, Sikami, and Sangkarakelan โ€” while the compass represents the Moral Compass of student leaders.

In his talk, he emphasized that student leaders are guided by one purpose and one goal, and that leadership cannot be done alone because it requires the help and support of others. He also highlighted the importance of values, explaining that values are the things we give importance, worth, and priority to. He then asked reflective questions such as, โ€œWho are you when no one is watching?โ€ and โ€œWhat is the most important day of this camp?โ€ He explained that the most important day is โ€œDay 5 and beyondโ€ because it is the time when participants apply everything they learned from the camp and create an impact on others and the community.

After his talk, the crew members were given time to open their booklets and reflect on their personal values and realizations.

The program then proceeded with the awarding of the groups with the most berries, the campโ€™s currency system, where Mapagpalaya Crew earned the highest number of berries. This was followed by the awarding of certificates to all participants in recognition of their participation throughout the camp.

Before the camp formally came to a close, a button pin featuring the wave and the moral compass was introduced. The button pin was placed on each participantโ€™s left side as a symbol of becoming part of the PHINMA UPang crew, representing companionship and collaboration among the student leaders.

Afterwards, the participants were given the opportunity to get to know one another more by roaming around the plenary hall and signing each otherโ€™s booklets as a remembrance of the friendships and connections formed throughout the camp.

Before the program officially ended, representatives from each crew shared their favorite moments from the camp, along with their experiences, reflections, and insights. Their heartfelt answers and realizations reflected how deeply they understood the purpose and essence of Daluyon Camp 2026.

Thank you so much, Student Leaders! ๐Ÿ’ซ

Today, May 23, marked the last day of Daluyon Camp 2026, which started with a warm-up exercise followed by a reflection moment where the participants shared what they were grateful for.

Afterwards, the participants had their โ€œMe Timeโ€ before returning to the plenary hall for the morning session, which included the introduction of the facilitators, co-captains, and captain for this yearโ€™s Lead Camp.

The incoming SSC officers then conducted a discussion about important documents and processes for the upcoming academic year, including event papers, budget proposals, and other necessary files. This was followed by presentations from each LSC and UWO, where they shared their organizationโ€™s vision, mission, commitments, and how the SSC can support them in the next academic year.

During the evening session of Day 3, the crews gathered for the Social Night, dressed in outfits inspired by One Piece. The night officially began with a wave-inspired performance by UPDC, whose movements and choreography captured the energy of the sea and set the atmosphere for the evening.

This was followed by โ€œThe Captainโ€™s Challenge,โ€ a surprise performance prepared by the representatives of the eight crews. Despite being given only a short amount of preparation time, the participants delivered an entertaining and heartfelt presentation composed of singing, roleplay, and dancing. The play centered on the journey of finding the greatest treasure, eventually revealing that the true treasure was the friendships and connections formed along the way.

The night also became a space for appreciation and genuine connection through the meaningful exchange of notes among crew members. Papers were placed at the back of each participant where others could freely write messages, appreciations, and heartfelt words for one another. This was followed by the exchange of yarns, with each color carrying a different meaning, symbolizing the bonds formed throughout the camp.

The evening ended on a high note with a jamming session by the LSS, filling the venue with music, energy, and shared moments among the crews.

Though the interactions lasted only for a short period of time, the evening became an emotional reminder of how strangers can slowly become part of one anotherโ€™s lives. More than just a social gathering, the night allowed the student leaders to build deeper connections, strengthen friendships, and create memories together.

Yesterday, May 21, โ€œThe Grand Line Journeyโ€ challenged the crews to complete six different stations within 1 hour and 20 minutes: Flip & Match, Calm Belt: Blind Walk, Loguetown: Water Balance, Baratie: Rope Challenge, Marineford: Cup Shot, and Pingpong Relay. Each station tested the participantsโ€™ teamwork, communication, patience, and determination as they worked together under time pressure.

As the energy from the challenges slowly settled, the atmosphere at the Studentsโ€™ Plaza shifted into something more solemn and reflective for the washing of the feet. Atty. Mike Datario, co-adviser of the SSC, formally opened the ceremony with a message about humility in leadership. He emphasized that one of the realities of leadership is learning how to accept differing opinions and perspectives. He reminded the student leaders that they will not always agree with the people around them, yet they must still choose to listen, understand, and serve with humility.

The washing of the feet then began with the incoming SSC President, Pres. Reevo, washing the feet of the incoming LSC and UWO Heads, who then did the same for their fellow officers, creating a domino effect throughout the gathering. More than a symbolic act, it reflected the deeper essence of servant leadership. It showed a kind of leadership grounded not in power or recognition, but in humility, compassion, and the willingness to serve others first.

For the afternoon session of Daluyon Camp Day 3, participants moved into the โ€œSikamiโ€ component of the program, with Dean Franklin de Guzman of the College of Arts and Sciences leading the discussion. He highlighted โ€œActive Leadership,โ€ emphasizing that leadership should always prioritize others over oneself and encourage awareness of the people around us.

He further reminded participants that true leadership is not about being served, but about serving others with purpose and responsibility. He concluded by sharing the acronym SERVE โ€” Support, Empower, Respect, Vision, and Example, as a guide for practicing meaningful and active leadership.

A while ago, crew members were in their chosen Paliwawa breakout sessions through Google Meet, gathered in different rooms per topic. The session began with a listening activity led by student leaders from Southwestern University PHINMA namely Mr. Louie Figueroa, Mr. Rance Martel, and Mr. Luegi Mancao, focusing on Environmental, Economics, and Governance discussions.

This was followed by a booklet activity with reflection questions and group planning, where participants developed a solution or project aligned with their chosen SDG, with some rooms continuing discussions until they were able to finalize their outputs.

Paliwawa is anchored on โ€œSangkarakelan,โ€ meaning community, one of the core concepts of this yearโ€™s camp that highlights connection beyond the university and encourages meaningful engagement on social issues through shared learning and collaboration.
