𝗨𝗟 𝗔𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗚𝗹𝗼𝗯𝗮𝗹 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝘁 𝗞𝗔𝗣𝗜𝗧-𝗕𝗜𝗦𝗜𝗚 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

Strengthening internationalization is essential in preparing higher education institutions to thrive in an increasingly interconnected world. Representing the University of Luzon at KAPIT-BISIG 2026: United from Within to Beyond were 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳. 𝗔𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗹 𝗦𝗮𝗺𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗥𝗲𝘆𝗻𝗮, 𝗝𝗿., Director of the International Relations Office, and 𝗠𝘀. 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲 𝗖𝘂𝗮, International Relations Office staff, who joined higher education leaders, International Relations Officers, IZN Focal Persons, and academic professionals from across the Philippines in a two-day capacity-building and professional training workshop on internationalization.

Organized by the University of the Philippines Los Baños, the event was held on July 13–14, 2026, at the SMX Convention Center Clark, Pampanga. It provided participants with valuable opportunities to exchange best practices, strengthen institutional networks, explore innovative strategies, and respond to the evolving demands of higher education in a global landscape.

Through specialized workshops, collaborative discussions, and practical learning sessions, the University of Luzon's representatives gained valuable insights that further strengthen the University's internationalization initiatives. The experience also opened new opportunities for strategic partnerships, academic collaboration, and global engagement that will benefit our students, faculty, and the entire University community.

By participating in KAPIT-BISIG 2026, the University of Luzon reaffirms its commitment to building meaningful international partnerships and creating transformative learning opportunities that prepare graduates to succeed in a globally connected society.

This initiative supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) by advancing SDG 4 (Quality Education) through quality learning and professional development, SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions) by promoting collaboration and institutional capacity building, and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) by strengthening local and international partnerships that foster innovation and shared progress.

An important milestone for the freshmen and transferee Criminology Students as they are officially welcomed to the institution during the 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗮𝗹 𝗢𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 conducted by the 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗖𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘆 held on July 8, 2026.

Under the leadership of Dean Dante De A. Castro, the activity introduced students to the college’s academic policies, student services, campus regulations, and professional standards expected of future criminologists. The orientation provided essential learning opportunities and addressed students’ educational needs, helping them better understand their roles and responsibilities as members of the academic community. Through meaningful discussions and guidance from university offices and guest speakers, participants gained valuable insights that will support their growth as disciplined, responsible, and service-oriented future professionals.

Freshmen and transferees of the 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗴𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝗰𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝘆 recently participated in the 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐫 𝐎𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, providing them with a meaningful introduction to university life and the opportunities that lie ahead.

Representatives from Guidance Services, Health Services, Security, Student Affairs, Ancillary Services, and Extension Services shared valuable information to help students navigate their academic journey, while the COA Career Orientation offered insights into various career paths in the accounting profession.

The activity strengthened students’ understanding of the support systems available to them and the competencies needed for future success.

Selected among only 100 participants nationwide, Dean 𝗗𝗿. 𝗝𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗮𝗻 𝗛. The workshop will provide opportunities for professional training, learning, and interdisciplinary research while addressing critical issues related to climate change, climate adaptation, climate policy, and environmental sustainability. Bringing together researchers and experts from across the country, the program aims to strengthen evidence-based approaches to climate resilience and support innovative solutions to emerging environmental challenges.

SDG 4, SDG 13, and SDG 17: This initiative enhances knowledge on the relationship between climate change, environmental health, and human health, advances quality education through professional training and learning, supports climate action by promoting knowledge on climate change, adaptation, and climate policy, and fosters collaborative partnerships that strengthen research, knowledge-sharing, and sustainable development.

ULCONM Joins an Exclusive National Climate Resilience Workshop ⛈️🌎🌳

The University of Luzon College of Nursing and Midwifery (ULCONM) proudly announces the participation of its Dean, Dr. Jordan H. Llego, in the capacity-development workshop titled “Advancing Interdisciplinary Research and Policy for Climate Resilience in the Philippines,” organized by the National Research Council of the Philippines (NRCP).
Dr. Llego is among the 100 carefully selected participants nationwide who will attend the two-day, face-to-face workshop on July 20–21, 2026, in Daraga, Albay. His selection reflects his commitment to research, interdisciplinary collaboration, evidence-based policy development, and sustainable initiatives for climate resilience.

The workshop will bring together experts and researchers to explore climate-change science, public health, ecosystems and biodiversity, climate adaptation, research design, data modeling, innovation, and science communication. Participants will also develop interdisciplinary research proposals with potential policy applications.

Through Dr. Llego’s participation, ULCONM continues to strengthen its engagement in nationally relevant research and its commitment to advancing climate-resilient health systems, nursing education, and community-responsive scholarship.

Global expertise met local learning as the University of Luzon successfully hosted distinguished speakers from the 𝗣𝗔𝗖𝗘 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆 on 𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝟏𝟎, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, at the UL Multi-Purpose Hall. Bringing together students, faculty members, and professionals from various disciplines, the event served as a platform for meaningful discussions on forensic science, digital innovation, and personal branding in a rapidly evolving world.

In the morning session, 𝗗𝗿. 𝗘𝗹𝗺𝗲𝗿-𝗥𝗶𝗰𝗼 𝗘. 𝗠𝗼𝗷𝗶𝗰𝗮, Professor and Associate Program Director of the Forensic Science Program at PACE University, shared valuable insights through his lecture, 𝙁𝙤𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙘 𝘼𝙣𝙖𝙡𝙮𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙡 𝙄𝙣𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙪𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣: 𝘽𝙧𝙞𝙙𝙜𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝘾𝙧𝙞𝙢𝙚 𝙎𝙘𝙚𝙣𝙚 𝙄𝙣𝙫𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙜𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝘾𝙤𝙪𝙧𝙩𝙧𝙤𝙤𝙢 𝙀𝙫𝙞𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚. His presentation highlighted the importance of scientific methods, analytical instruments, and evidence-based investigations in the pursuit of justice.

In the afternoon session, 𝗚𝗲𝗼𝗳𝗳𝗿𝗲𝘆 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘄 𝗣𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗠𝗼𝗷𝗶𝗰𝗮, filmmaker, visual storyteller, and digital marketing professional, inspired participants with his lecture, 𝙃𝙤𝙬 𝙩𝙤 𝘽𝙪𝙞𝙡𝙙 𝙖 𝘽𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝘼𝙧𝙩𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙞𝙘 𝙎𝙚𝙣𝙨𝙞𝙗𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙞𝙣 𝙖𝙣 𝘼𝙄-𝘿𝙧𝙞𝙫𝙚𝙣 𝙈𝙖𝙧𝙠𝙚𝙩. He emphasized the importance of sense of self in authenticity, creativity, passion and purpose in building a personal brand amidst technological advancements and the growing influence of artificial intelligence.

The lecture series provided participants with new perspectives, practical knowledge, and valuable inspiration, reinforcing the importance of innovation, active learning, and global collaboration in preparing future-ready professionals.
