As part of the College of Agricultureโ€™s In-House Review Program for the Agricultural Licensure Examination (AgLE), the Agricultural Extension and Communication session was conducted on May 9โ€“10, 2026, under the facilitation of Dr. Ardniel A. Baladjay, an agricultural researcher, extension specialist, and research leader with extensive expertise in crop production, crop protection, and agricultural communication.

Dr. Baladjay earned his Doctor of Philosophy in Agricultural Science major in Crop Production and Management, with cognate studies in Crop Protection, from the University of Southern Mindanao. He obtained his Master of Science in Horticulture major in Seed Technology, with cognate in Plant Pathology, from the University of the Philippines Los Baรฑos. He completed his Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Extension, with a minor in Plant Pathology, also from the University of Southern Mindanao.

At present, he serves as the Head of the Division of Crop Research at the USM Agricultural Research and Development Center, where he plays a pivotal role in advancing agricultural research, fostering innovation, and strengthening extension program development initiatives.

Over the course of the two-day lecture, Dr. Baladjay delivered comprehensive discussions on Agricultural Extension and Communication, underscoring its vital role in technology transfer, farmer engagement, and sustainable agricultural development. He further emphasized the significance of effective communication strategies, participatory extension methodologies, and field-based problem-solving competencies aligned with AgLE learning outcomes and professional standards.

As part of the College of Agricultureโ€™s ongoing In-House Review Program for the Agricultural Licensure Examination (AgLE), the first review sessions in Agricultural Economics and Marketing were successfully conducted on May 2โ€“3, 2026, at the Training Center of Mindanao State University-Maguindanao. The lectures were facilitated by RAgr. Elsie S. Villanueva, a highly respected academician and agricultural professional with extensive expertise in agricultural economics, development planning, and public service.

RAgr. Villanueva earned her Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Business Management (Magna Cum Laude) from Mindanao State University โ€“ General Santos and completed her Master of Science in Development Economics at University of East Anglia. She also completed a specialized Summer Program in Economics at University of the Philippines Los Baรฑos, further strengthening her foundation in economic analysis and development studies.

Her professional background includes serving as a former faculty member of Mindanao State University โ€“ General Santos and as Officer-in-Charge of the City Agriculturist Office of General Santos City. In addition, she is a Licensed Environmental Planner, reflecting her multidisciplinary competence in agricultural development, environmental planning, and public administration.

During the two-day review session, RAgr. Villanueva provided comprehensive discussions on key concepts, principles, and applied approaches in Agricultural Economics and Marketing relevant to the AgLE competencies and examination framework. Her lectures integrated theoretical foundations with practical field experiences, enabling students to better appreciate the economic, managerial, and marketing dimensions of the agricultural sector. The College of Agriculture is currently conducting its In-House Review Program in preparation for the upcoming Agricultural Licensure Examination (AgLE) at the Training Center of Mindanao State University-Maguindanao.

This academic initiative is designed to strengthen the preparedness and professional competence of fourth-year agriculture students through intensive review sessions, structured academic reinforcement, comprehensive mock board examinations, and strategic mentoring aligned with the competencies and standards prescribed in the licensure examination framework.

The review program is further strengthened by a pool of highly qualified, experienced, and competitive lecturers composed of distinguished academicians, researchers, industry practitioners, and topnotchers in the field of agriculture. Their diverse academic backgrounds, professional achievements, and extensive field experiences provide students with comprehensive insights and practical understanding essential for success in the licensure examination and future professional practice.

Through the institutionalization of this program, the university reaffirms its commitment to academic excellence and quality assurance in agricultural education.
