LOOK | BETU-CTU partnership delivers first major onsite academic collaboration with 11 student presenters in Vietnam

Barely eight months after formalizing the partnership, Cebu Technological University (CTU) and Binh Duong Economics and Technology University (BETU), Vietnam, are showing the first mileage, as the alliance sends 11 student researchers to the bespoke platform.

Their papers span education, digital communication, artificial intelligence, tourism, hospitality, environmental science, agriculture, public health, and other interdisciplinary fields, reflecting CTU's robust undergraduate research ecosystem.

Headlining CTU's participation is Assoc. Prof. Dr. Collin Garrido who has been fully funded by BETU for his speakership at the event, as well as a lectureship on the 10th.

Alongside Dr. Garrido are Assoc. Prof. Dr. Angen Mae Charcos and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Adelliosa Menchavez, who are both attending the conference and lecturing at the same time.

The delegation from Argao, Barili, Carmen, Danao, Daanbantayan and Tuburan departed Cebu at 1:00 a.m. today for Ho Chi Minh. The 2-day schedule is tight for a series of lectures and a conference on the 10th and 11th, respectively, before the group heads home on the 12th.

CTU is underwriting the students’ airfare, while BETU is providing host support through accommodation, meals, local transportation, and other in-country arrangements.

The shared funding model reflects the institutions' collective resolve to move beyond signed agreements toward enduring collaboration in research, mobility, and academic exchange.

Danao students’ presence at the event speaks to the campus administrators’ commitment to global identitarianism through research, as Carla Jane Hermoso and Enjelyn Erato have constituted the third batch of outbound academic mobility participants next to the faculty members sent to Turkey and India since January of this year.

LOOK | CTU Danao academic secures spot as research fellow in India

Asst. Prof. Dr. Ivy Batican is set to join the third batch of scholars following her acceptance into the Naveen Jindal Young Global Research Fellowship in India.

The one-year program includes a two-month fully funded residency from June 2026 to June 2027 in the country’s top private HEI—O.P. Jindal Global University, where she will meet her assigned supervisor and collaborator.

Further, Dr. Batican should produce at least one paper for publication in a Scopus-indexed journal, participate in conferences, and engage in cultural trips.

Currently leading the community extension arm at the northern campus and pursuing a law degree, she continues to layer her experience through this development, alongside scholars from around the world.

Cebu Technological University (CTU) Danao Campus proudly celebrates the international lectureship of Dr. Denilin Batulan at Doğuş University in Istanbul, Türkiye.
From February 23 to 27, Dr. Batulan delivered a three-part lecture series titled “Equity and Justice in Education: Empowering Marginalized Communities through Inclusive Practices." Her engagement at Doğuş University reflects CTU Danao’s sustained commitment to global academic collaboration, research-informed practice, and inclusive excellence. The university community takes pride in Dr. Batulan’s contribution to international dialogue on equity and justice in education, further strengthening CTU Danao’s presence in global higher education networks.

GLOBAL ENGAGEMENT | CTU students bound for historic Israel exchange

Four years in the making—since the link was concocted in Barcelona between Cebu Technological University (CTU) and Western Galilee College (WGC)—the first cohort of CTU students is finally poised to complete the March–July semester in Israel.

Danao campus BSED English students Ronna Abadejos and Nariz Corbo will juggle five courses at WGC while continuing their classes at CTU, following the directive of the college’s evaluation committee.

Under the program, WGC provides tuition and, with a recent notification, will also waive accommodation for the duo's entire stay. Considering Israel’s high cost of living—comparable to a city like New York—CTU Internationalization and ASEAN Integration (IAI) Director Rhodora Magan, in a statement, described WGC’s offer as very generous.

Meanwhile, CTU, in trying to resuscitate its outbound pathways, covers airfare, provided all university protocols are met. Abadejos and Corbo are responsible for their meals, personal allowances, insurance, and visa fees.

A courtesy call was held today at the CTU Danao Campus Director’s Office for the two student interns from the College of Management and Entrepreneurship who are set to depart tomorrow, December 3, 2025, for their international internship at Hyatt Regency Hong Kong Sha Tin. The meeting was spearheaded by Dr. Edralin A. General, IAI Chairperson, and attended by Dr. Rodel S. Hintapan, BSTM Chairperson, along with Dr. Rosemarie N. Abayon, Administrative Officer V, showing the strong support of the university as the interns prepare for this prestigious opportunity.

During the courtesy visit, Dr. Rose Mary L. Almacen, Campus Director, shared inspiring words and meaningful advice, encouraging the interns to give their best, embrace every learning experience, and represent CTU with integrity and professionalism. Her message served as a motivating send-off, reminding the interns that the entire CTU community stands behind them as they begin their journey abroad.

This internship is part of CTU Danao’s ongoing internationalization efforts, providing students with valuable hands-on experience in one of Asia’s leading hospitality venues. The university continues to foster global partnerships and support students in achieving excellence in their professional careers.
