On April 11, 2026, the Bicol University National Service Reserve Corps (NSRC) successfully conducted the Search for Mx. Youth Advocate 2026, as part of the celebration of the 23rd NSTP Day of Bicol University.

Harold Steve Cristian Gñilo, a Political Science student and representative of the College of Social Sciences and Philosophy (CSSP), stood out among the candidates as he secured a spot in the Top 8 Finalists.

With his poise, confidence, and unwavering commitment to children empowerment, he truly embodied the essence of an advocate—earning recognition that reflects his passion and purpose.

Throughout the competition, he showcased excellence and creativity as he confidently donned a phoenix-inspired innovative attire crafted by CSSPian volunteers, wore the SILAB uniform with pride, and exuded elegance in his formal wear.

The event was further enlivened by the overwhelming support of fellow CSSP students, who gathered to cheer and stand behind Steve in his inspiring journey.

The Silab Council 🐦‍🔥✨ has well represented themselves with the management of the SILAB Booth under representation of the College of Social Sciences and Philosophy for NSTP DAY. 🎊‼️

On April 11, 2026, the SILAB BUCSSP NSTP SC Booth became a space of collaboration, learning, and active participation as students came together to take part in the two-day event.

The second day of the event buzzed with a new level of energy as the booth-hopping activities officially kicked off. This wasn't just a walk-through; it was a vibrant bridge connecting students from across various colleges, the booth welcomed students through booth hopping activities, fostering interaction, interactive games, connection, and shared learning among participants from different colleges. The event provided an avenue for students to not only explore but also appreciate the essence of service and community involvement.

Beyond the social buzz, the day served a deeper purpose. Each activity was carefully designed to highlight the true essence of service, giving students a firsthand look at how community involvement can be both impactful and rewarding. The atmosphere was further electrified by the arrival of student merchants, a special thanks to: 𝗦𝗼𝗹'𝘀 𝗧𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗮, 𝗞𝗹𝗮𝗲, 𝗕𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗚𝗲𝗹𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀, 𝗯𝗹𝘂𝗺𝗲, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗧𝘄𝗶𝘀𝘁 𝗡 𝗥𝗲𝗶𝗴𝗻 who transformed their corners into hubs of creativity. These young entrepreneurs didn't just sell products; they shared their passions, offering a glimpse into their personal creative journeys. To keep the momentum high, the council integrated a series of spirited games that echoed with laughter, ensuring that the spirit of happiness and play remained at the heart of the afternoon's festivities.

On April 10, 2026, the SILAB BUCSSP NSTP SC Booth became a space of collaboration, learning, and active participation as students came together to take part in the two-day event.

The first day focused on the preparation of the booth, where student volunteers worked collectively to bring their ideas to life—demonstrating creativity, teamwork, and dedication in every detail of the setup. Their efforts laid the foundation for an engaging and meaningful experience for participants.

The council together with the student volunteers have made the best out of simple materials to reassemble the flame, the essence, and the heat of CSSP.

As Phoenixes, Through trials, mishaps, and even cramming minutes—the SILAB Council managed to push through with every bit of fun and passionate service; Like a Phoenix, risen from ashes. Let's give appreciation to the Officers and the Team behind it, as they are the people who showcased not only the booth but also our college! The Bicol University – College of Social Sciences and Philosophy SILAB National Service Training Program Student Council successfully conducted its first General Assembly for A.Y. 2025–2026 on March 28, 2026, via Google Meet.

The session formally opened with an invocation, followed by the singing of the Philippine National Anthem and the Bicol University Hymn. This was succeeded by the roll call and certification of quorum, ensuring the legitimacy of the proceedings, as well as the reading of house rules and approval of the agenda.

Key highlights of the assembly included the introduction of the SILAB BU CSSP NSTP Student Council and the presentation of its Vision, Mission, and Objectives. The council also presented its Calendar of Activities for April to May A.Y. 2025–2026, outlining upcoming initiatives and engagements for student-volunteers.

A significant part of the assembly was the presentation of the Financial Report for the second semester, A.Y. 2025–2026, promoting transparency and accountability within the organization. This was followed by privilege speeches from the executive officers, emphasizing leadership, service, and collective responsibility.

During the announcements segment, updates were provided regarding the NSTP shirt, the upcoming NSTP Day, the anticipated Mx. Youth Advocate 2026, and the formation of a working committee for NSTP Day.

Despite technical adjustments that moved the start of the program to 2:33 PM, the assembly concluded successfully at 4:55 PM.

The council extends its deepest gratitude to all CWTS students of CSSP for their patience, active participation, and unwavering commitment to service. This milestone reflects the power of collaboration and purpose-driven leadership.

On March 6, 2026, at the BU OSAS Rehearsal Room, candidates from different colleges participated in the Orientation and Sashing Ceremony for Mx. Youth Advocate, facilitated by the Bicol University National Service Reserve Corps (BU NSRC). The event provided an opportunity for the candidates to prepare for their roles as youth leaders and advocates within the university.

Among the participants was Harold Steve Christian Gñilo from the College of Social Sciences and Philosophy (CSSP), proudly representing his college. The ceremony marked the beginning of their journey in promoting youth leadership, advocacy, and active participation across the campus.
