Congratulations to ATHEA ELAIZA R. OMBION and CHRISTIAN NICCOLO F. VALENCIA for winning BEST POSTER PRESENTATION at the SDGs Connect International Conference 2026, organized by Universitas Airlangga and held on October 14–16, 2026, in Surabaya, Indonesia.

They represented their group’s undergraduate thesis entitled “Evaluating the Membrane-Disruptive and Potentiating Antibacterial Activity of Oregano (Origanum vulgare) Leaf Essential Oil Combined with Cloxacillin Against Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus.” The thesis was advised by Instr. Angelle Mae L. Naoe, RPh.

The conference also featured the poster presentations of fellow student researchers from the Dr. Mariano Que College of Pharmacy:
Arnel Jr B. Tolentino, Cielo Mari P. Sierra, Yzabelle Rain M. Bancoro, John Benedict B. Romano, and Vianne Germaine D.V. Gonzalvo. Their participation highlights the college's growing engagement in research and international academic exchange.

Joining the delegation were student representatives from the College of Nursing. The DLSMHSI delegates were accompanied by Dr. Marjorie Fay P. Sta. Maria, Chair, Research and Development of the College of Nursing, along with other school administrators.

This achievement reflects our students' dedication to scientific inquiry, research excellence, and collaboration across disciplines and institutions.
