NU Dasmariñas strengthens partnership with Chooks Diner

NU Dasmariñas officially formalized its partnership with Chooks Diner through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Ceremonial Signing, reinforcing both organizations’ commitment to supporting university events, activities, and initiatives that provide meaningful experiences for the Nationalian community.

The NU Dasmariñas delegation was led by Dr. Catherine D. Lagadia, Executive Director, together with Mr. Ramon L. Rodriguez, Academic Director; Mr. Brian Toledo, AILPO Coordinator; and Mr. Manuel J. Logatoc, ComEx/NSTP Director. Representing Chooks Diner was Ms. Judea Dela Cruz, Chooks Diner Brand Supervisor.

The ceremonial signing marks a strengthened collaboration between NU Dasmariñas and Chooks Diner, particularly in providing sponsorship and support for university-led events and activities. Through this partnership, Chooks Diner joins the university in creating engaging opportunities and experiences for students while contributing to the success of various campus initiatives.

NU Dasmariñas continues to foster partnerships with organizations that support and contribute to meaningful programs and activities for the Nationalian community.

Courage for the motherland! 🦸🇵🇭

National Heroes Day is a public holiday commemorated every last Monday of August, as stated in Republic Act No. 9492, s. 2007.

From known to unknown heroes, this day recognizes the bravery of individuals who fought for the country’s independence from the foreign rule of Spaniards, Americans, and Japanese.

This day also particularly remembers the Cry of Pugad Lawin that sparked the 1896 Philippine revolution against Spanish colonizers led by Andres Bonifacio and the Katipunan.

As early as 1931, National Heroes Day was already celebrated in accordance with the Legislature Act 3827, even though the country was an unincorporated territory under the United States government.

At present, some modern heroes represent and serve the Philippines and the Filipinos, such as frontliners, true leaders, and athletes.

Search and Rescue (SAR) team saves typhoon victims, Boy Scout Chris Lorenz Fabian shielded his classmates during the tragic shooting incident at San Jose National High School (SJNHS) in Tacloban City last June, while Carlos Yulo (gymnastics), Hidilyn Diaz (weightlifting), and Alex Eala (tennis) are athletes of the country.

They help other Filipinos and raise the Philippine flag in the world of sports. Patriotism, exhibited in diverse ways, reflects one of National University’s core values.

Today, we honor the courage, sacrifices, and unwavering love for country of the heroes who helped shape our nation. Their stories remind us that heroism is not only found in history books—it lives on in the values we uphold, the challenges we overcome, and the compassion we extend to others.

May we continue their legacy by standing with courage, doing what is right, and serving with a genuine love for our country and our fellow Filipinos.

As Nationalians, may we carry their spirit in the way we learn, lead, and make a difference.
