In recognition of its commitment to community service and educational collaboration, the Kolehiyo ng Lungsod ng Dasmariñas was officially honored during the 2025 Gawad Bayanihan ceremony held recently at the Bayleaf Hotel. The event, held in conjunction with the Division Education Summit, served as a platform to celebrate institutions and individuals who have significantly contributed to the success of the educational initiatives within the City Schools Division of Dasmariñas.

The Gawad Bayanihan is an annual tradition that acknowledges the spirit of communal unity and cooperation. For KLD, this award reflects the institution’s active role as a "knowledge-based partner" of the City of Dasmariñas, extending its resources and expertise to support local basic education. By participating in these collaborative efforts, the College has demonstrated that its mission goes beyond higher education, playing part in the "SULONG TAYO" framework to improve the learning environment for all Dasmarineño students.

𝗞𝗟𝗗 𝗘𝗮𝗿𝗻𝘀 𝗗𝗜𝗖𝗧 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗘𝘅𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱!

The Kolehiyo ng Lungsod ng Dasmariñas (KLD) has received a prestigious 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗘𝘅𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 from the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), specifically the DICT CALABARZON Regional Office.

This high distinction recognizes KLD's essential role and commitment to furthering ICT development, digital literacy, and competency within the region, efforts that directly support the DICT's goal to strengthen the digital skills of government workers and the broader community. The award was formally conferred during the ILCDB Stakeholders' Summit 2025 on December 11, 2025, at the Batangas City Convention Center, an event focused on the theme, "Walang Iwanan sa Digital Bayanihan."

The successful partnership and the recognition were driven by the following collaborative activities between KLD-ICDI and DICT Region IVA:

1. KLD-ICDI partnered with DICT Region IVA to deliver digital upskilling programs, including a 20-hour R Programming in Data Science training and a 40-hour Python Programming Essentials course. These were attended by faculty members, alumni, and students and held on October 28–30, 2024 and September 15–19, 2025, respectively.

2. KLD-ICDI served as a host institution for DICT-administered examinations, including the March 2025 User Certification Examination and the May 2025 Electronic Data Processing Specialist Eligibility (EDPSE) Examination, equivalent to the Civil Service Examination. Six BS Information Systems students successfully passed the User Certification Examination.

3. The KLD-ICDI Team placed 7th out of 17 teams in the DICT Region IVA HackForGov Regional Competition 2025. In addition, Mr. Raymond Deo A. Tungala was recognized as one of the top performers among 70 participants.

4. KLD faculty members represented the Province of Cavite in the Local Digital Challenge 2025 held on June 5, 2025 at the DICT CALABARZON Regional Office.

5. KLD-ICDI faculty key officials actively participated in major DICT events, including the Briefing for Digital Leaders 2025 and CyberRange 2025.

6. KLD Startup Team composed of Faculty Members and Students joined Philippine Startup Challenge X 2025 organized by DICT Region IVA.

KLD's President/College Administrator, Dr. Juanito O. Cabanias, graciously received the award on behalf of the institution. This honor is a testament to the "invaluable efforts and unwavering commitment" demonstrated by KLD, particularly through the creative initiatives of the Institute of Computing and Digital Innovation (ICDI). A huge congratulations is extended to the entire team, especially to Dr. Magtibay, Dean of ICDI, and Mr. Keno Villavicencio, the immediate past Dean, whose leadership and vision were instrumental in achieving this commendable recognition.
