This semester, distance is just a detail. We are thrilled to announce an exciting new Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL) program that bridges two distinct worlds through the power of shared narratives.

Welcome to Hikaya-t. A six-week-long exchange uniting two dynamic groups of future leaders:

* Bethlehem University: 4th-Year Communication Students
* De La Salle University-Dasmariñas: 3rd-Year Political Science Students

What are we doing?
Guided by the innovative course design of two academic leads, Dennis Maldo, JD, of De La Salle University-Dasmariñas, and Layth Awwad of Bethlehem University, we will blend the analytical lens of political science with the storytelling power of communication. Students are teaming up across time zones to:

* Share cultural identities and celebrate the rich heritage and daily lives that shape both nations.
* Unpack realities to examine pressing social and political climates through collaborative media content.
* Clarify narratives by dismantling stereotypes and replacing them with authentic, firsthand perspectives.

More than just an academic requirement, Hikaya-t is a vibrant exchange of truths designed to foster global empathy and deep, lived knowledge about one another. ✨

Due to an electrical issue at the substation servicing JFH and PCH, a power interruption is currently affecting both buildings.

To ensure continuous learning while repairs are underway, the following temporary arrangements are in effect immediately:

• 𝗝𝗙𝗛 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗖𝗛 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀: All affected classes will shift to ONLINE ASYNCHRONOUS mode for the remaining hours today through tomorrow, 25 August 2026. Affected earlier classes may conduct make-up classes asynchronously or at a later time.
• 𝗟𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗖𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀: Faculty and students should proceed with the lecture portions asynchronously.
• 𝗨𝗻𝗮𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀: All classes in other university buildings will continue ONSITE as scheduled.

De La Salle University-Dasmariñas (DLSU-D) formally sealed a partnership with JA Philippines Learning Institute, Inc. through the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the implementation of the JA Entrepreneur Skills Pass Program for students pursuing Marketing and Business Management programs.

Representing JA Philippines during the signing were Dr. Krishna Alejandrino, Executive Director, and Ms. Paula Patrice Dela Cruz, Director of Operations. Joining the ceremony were Dr. Twinkle Amparo, Vice-Provost for Academics, and Dr. Johnny Ching, Vice-Provost for Research, Innovation and Global Engagement. The College of Business Administration and Accountancy (CBAA) was represented by its Dean, Dr. Pete Mendiola, together with its administrators and faculty members.

This collaboration underscores the shared commitment of DLSU-D and JA Philippines to equip students with globally relevant competencies and strengthen their career readiness. Through the JA Entrepreneur Skills Pass Program, students will have the opportunity to earn industry-recognized micro-credentials that validate their skills and competencies in the fields of marketing and business management.

On August 19, 2026, the De La Salle Brothers gathered for the Mission Sending Mass for Br. John Ong FSC, who will soon leave for the United States to pursue his doctoral studies at Saint Mary’s College of California, a Lasallian university in the San Francisco Bay Area. Among those who joined the celebration were Brothers from DLSU-D, together with Br. John’s family and friends and Lasallian Partners.

Br. John has served De La Salle University-Dasmariñas for two years as a member of its Board of Trustees. He also served as a member of the Board’s Academic Committee.

The Mission Sending Mass was an opportunity for the Brothers to pray with Br. John and send him forth as he begins this new chapter of his Lasallian journey.

The DLSU-D community expresses its gratitude to Br. John for his years of service to the University, particularly through his work with the Board of Trustees and its Academic Committee.
