Bakit nga ba ginugunita ang Batas Militar kahit na limampu’t apat na taon na ang nakakalipas?

Bilang masuring estudyante at makabayang mamamayan, ang makiisa sa pag-alala ng panahon ng Batas Militar ay nagpapakita ng ating pakikiisa sa mga lumaban para sa kalayaan at pakikiramay sa mga buhay na naging kapalit nito. Kaakibat ang mga aral ng nakaraan, na sa mga susunod na henerasyon ay hindi na dapat maulit kailanman.

Para sa unang araw, maging mulat sa makasaysayang kaganapan sa pamamagitan ng makabukuhang talakayan na naglalayong balikan at pahalagahan ang mga tunay na kwentong humubog sa ating kasaysayan.

Upang ating higit na maunawaan ang ating ipinaglalaban patungkol sa ating paggunita ng Batas Militar, bibigyan tayo ng makatuturang talakayan ng mga sumusunod na tagapagsalita:

🎙 𝐁𝐛. 𝐄𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐳 𝐀𝐳𝐧𝐚𝐫– UP Diliman Scholar, at Cavite Provincial Coordinator para sa Project Gunita. Sa pamamagitan ng kanyang malalim na pananaliksik sa Political Science, patuloy niyang itinataguyod ang kritikal na pagkatuto at paglaban sa historical distortion upang manatiling buhay ang mga aral ng Martial Law.

🎙 𝐆𝐢𝐧𝐨𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐑𝐨𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐨 𝐐𝐮𝐢𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐞 𝐆𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐜𝐨 𝐈𝐈𝐈. – Technical Developer at Researcher-Writer para sa Project Gunita, at pampublikong tagapagsulong ng digital preservation. Gamit ang teknolohiya at digital media tulad ng educational microsite na Diktador!, ginagampanan niya ang mahalagang papel sa pag-aarkibo at pag-uugnay ng mga kaganapan noong Martial Law sa mga usaping panlipunan ng makabagong henerasyon.

𝐓𝐎𝐌𝐎𝐑𝐑𝐎𝐖, 𝐖𝐄 𝐖𝐄𝐀𝐑 𝐁𝐋𝐀𝐂𝐊.

We may not have lived through the years marked by fear, hardship, and loss during Martial Law, nor witnessed firsthand the sufferings endured by countless Filipinos who fought to preserve their rights and freedoms. But we can still stand in solidarity with them by remembering, honoring, and preserving the lessons of our history.

𝐋𝐚𝐬𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐧𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐥𝐲 𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐝 𝐭𝐨 𝐰𝐞𝐚𝐫 𝐁𝐋𝐀𝐂𝐊 𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐨𝐰 𝐰𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐞 𝐨𝐧 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐠𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐬.

This is not merely an act of commemoration, but a collective commitment to remember the past and ensure that the injustices and sufferings of history are never allowed to happen again.

𝐍𝐎𝐓𝐄: This initiative is in accordance with the SWAFO. Students may freely wear black attire for tomorrow. Students who choose to wear black are still expected to observe all applicable provisions and guidelines of the Student Handbook.

Students who choose not to wear black shall wear the prescribed University Uniform. The lifting of the uniform requirement applies only for this day and only to the University Uniform. The collegiate uniform requirement remains applicable.

​Dekadang panahon man ang lumipas, hindi maglalaho sa mga pahina ng kasaysayan ang mga kaganapang nakaukit sa alaala ng sambayanang Pilipino.

​Sa paggunita sa ika-54 na taon ng deklarasyon ng Batas Militar, ating balikan ang nakaraan—hindi upang manatili sa sakit at pinsalang idinulot nito, kundi upang patuloy na makiramay at makiisa sa mga lubhang naapektuhan at sa mga buhay na inialay. Kaakibat nito ang makabuluhang mga aral na hindi kailanman dapat limutin.

Sama-sama tayong makiisa at gunitain ang Martial Law sa 'HANGGANG NGAYON: 54 Taon ng Kasaysayang Buhay' kasama ang University Student Government (USG).

Bawat araw ay may kuwentong makasaysayan na may mga aral na dapat alalahanin, unawain, at maipasa sa bawat henerasyon ng Pilipino, Ito ay may kabuoan na tatlong araw na iniaalay sa makabuluhang panggunita at pagninilay.
