๐ค๐ Voices. Power. Discourse. Change. ๐ต๐ญ
Join us as the Bachelor of Arts in English students of the University of Mindanao present their ongoing research projects in discourse studies for ELS 221 (English Discourse) at the forum:
โจ โVoicing Power: English, Identity, & Social Justice in the Philippinesโ โจ
This academic gathering highlights student-led studies that critically examine how language, media, identity, and public discourse shape contemporary Philippine society. Through their ongoing research, students will explore topics such as political rhetoric, media framing, online conversations, identity construction, cancel culture, and the relationship between language and social power.
These presentations reflect the studentsโ developing work in discourse analysis and their efforts to contribute meaningful insights into language use, communication, and social realities in the Philippines today.
