Warmest congratulations to Ms. Joon Mico P. Llido, for earning a place in the Office of the Solicitor General Legal Internship Program (OSG-LIP).

Ms. Llido joins a select group of future lawyers, as one of only sixty admitted interns for the 2026 Batch. The USeP School of Law looks forward to her growth through the program’s rigorous training and professional exposure.

The OSG-LIP is an intensive, comprehensive, and structured seven-week program designed for outstanding junior and senior law students.

[RECENTLY HELD] School of Law MiLawPRI Research Forum

The University of Southeastern Philippines School of Law (USeP SoL) successfully conducted the Mindanao Law and Peace Resource Institute (MiLawPRI) Research Forum on April 11, 2026, via Zoom featuring selected Juris Doctor theses that showcased doctrinal, qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods legal research.

Designed for the Second Year Juris Doctor (JD) Students concluding their Thesis Concept Development subject, the forum provided practical insights from fourth year students on navigating the thesis process alongside the demands of law school.

The featured presenters were:
- Mr. John Lorie A. Bacaling — Unmasking Double Contracting Through Phenomenological Analysis: The Lived Experiences, Economic Compromises, and Long-Term Impact on Filipino Migrant Workers (Qualitative)
- Mr. Niño V. Miedes — Kaalam sa Kinaiyahan: A Convergent Mixed Methods on Environmental Issues Awareness and Community Solutions (Mixed Methods)
- Mr. Edwin F. Piedad Jr. — A Policy Review on the Effectiveness of Ordinance No. 1334-12, Series of 2012 (Comprehensive Transport and Traffic Code of Davao City) (Quantitative / Policy Review)
- Mr. Ramon Caesar L. Conjugacion — How Serious is “Serious Dishonesty?”: A Jurisprudential Survey of the Administrative Offense of Dishonesty (Doctrinal)

The event was facilitated by Atty. Marian C. Pasia, Associate Dean and Faculty-in-Charge of Thesis Concept Development and Atty. Imma Coney P. Olayan, SoL Research and Extension Coordinator, reinforcing the School of Law’s commitment to strengthening its research culture.

Aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, the forum supports SDG 5 (Gender Equality) through research on migrant workers’ lived experiences, and SDG 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions) through analyses of conflict resolution mechanisms and policy review of administrative accountability and transportation policy.

This meaningful occasion marks the conclusion of the Holy Month of Ramadan, a time dedicated to reflection, devotion, and self-discipline for our Muslim brothers and sisters.

In observance of this holiday, there will be no classes or office transactions across all campuses of the University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP) on the said date.

Last February 28, 2026, faculty members of the University of Southeastern Philippines School of Law (USeP SoL), Atty. Arlene M. Lorejo-Cosape and Atty. Maria Zola Estela I. Geyrozaga, conducted a Reorientation Workshop on Outcomes-Based Education (OBE) under the Revised Model Law Curriculum for the faculty of the Notre Dame of Marbel University (NDMU) College of Law.

Fourteen faculty members and staff from the NDMU College of Law participated in the comprehensive reorientation, which covered the fundamentals of Outcomes-Based Education, curriculum and program mapping, and a workshop on writing an OBE-oriented course syllabus.

This initiative affirms the shared commitment of USeP and NDMU to advancing quality legal education through Outcomes-Based Education aligned with the Revised Model Law Curriculum.

[𝗔𝗗𝗩𝗜𝗦𝗢𝗥𝗬] In view of the advisory of the Department of Science and Technology- Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical, and Astronomical Services Administration (DOST-PAG ASA) and the continuing rainfall and inclement weather conditions caused by the shearline affecting the Davao Region, the University will adopt the following measures on 𝗙𝗲𝗯𝗿𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝟮𝟯, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 (𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗮𝘆) 𝗮𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗰𝗮𝗺𝗽𝘂𝘀𝗲𝘀:

𝗙𝗹𝗲𝘅𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗼𝗱𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆. All classes will shift to flexible learning modality (online synchronous or asynchronous).

𝗙𝗹𝗲𝘅𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗔𝗿𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗟𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗢𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀. Administrative and academic personnel shall adopt a work-from-home arrangement, except those from essential units as determined by their respective heads.

Offices confirmed to maintain a skeleton workforce include the Office of the University Registrar, General Services Unit, Finance Division, and Systems and Data Management Division (Computer Maintenance Technicians). Onsite transactions will be limited only.

Scheduled activities may proceed subject to assessment by the concerned University authorities.

In the event that the Local Government Unit (LGU) where a campus is located declares suspension of classes and/or work, the University shall abide by and implement such directives accordingly.

Suspension of classes across all campuses including all onsite activities and face-to-face transactions. The Resume Cafe scheduled for graduating students at the Obrero Campus is cancelled.

𝗙𝗲𝗯𝗿𝘂𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝟮𝟭, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 (𝗦𝗮𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗱𝗮𝘆)
Flexible Learning: All classes will shift to flexible learning modality (online synchronous or asynchronous).

𝗨𝗦𝗲𝗣 𝗔𝗱𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗧𝗲𝘀𝘁 (𝗨𝗦𝗲𝗣𝗔𝗧)
The USePAT scheduled on February 20 and 21, 2026 will be postponed to February 28, 2026.

𝗡𝗼 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝗲-𝘁𝗼-𝗙𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗧𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀:
Onsite transactions are suspended during this period. All transacting clients are encouraged to utilize online payment methods and access USeP online services for their transactions, including requests for academic documents.

Flexible Work Arrangement (FWA): Administrative and academic personnel shall Work from Home, except for essential units as determined by their respective heads and for campuses where there is LGU directive for work suspension.

NEW ISSUANCE: The Legal Education Board (LEB) formally releases Memorandum Circular No. 001, Series of 2026, containing the updated list of Legal Education Institutions (LEIs) with approved applications to offer the Ladderized Master of Legal Studies–Juris Doctor (MLS–JD) Degree Program, beginning Academic Year 2025–2026, as of 03 February 2026.

Issued pursuant to Section 7(f) of Republic Act No. 7662 and consistent with the curricular innovation framework under LEB Memorandum Order No. 24, Series of 2021, this issuance reinforces the Board’s commitment to academic flexibility and program enhancement under the Revised Model Law Curriculum (RMLC).

Further, in accordance with Section 18 of LEB Memorandum Circular No. 36, Series of 2025, all LEIs with approved MLS–JD programs are required to submit to the LEB the official list of graduates within fifteen (15) days after each graduation ceremony.

In celebration of the 24 new Agila Lawyers who took their oath last February 6, 2026, a testimonial dinner was held on January 31, 2026. University of Southeastern Philippines School of Law (USeP SoL) Dean Jamil Adrian Khalil L. Matalam welcomed the new lawyers, guest speakers, University officials, faculty members, and Bar Operations heads.

On behalf of the University, President Dr. Bonifacio Gabales Jr. congratulated the new Agila Lawyers, together with Vice President for Academic Affairs Dr. Jeneifer C. Nueva, and Extension Division Director Dr. Roby V. Pagong.

Hon. Rowena M. Apao-Adlawan, Executive Judge of the RTC Davao City and Convenor of the Davao City Justice Zone, reminded the new lawyers in her message not to rush into practice and to always retain respect for the teachers who helped shape their journey.

Hon. Rogelio G. Largo, Associate Justice of the Court of Appeals and former Dean of USeP SoL, shared his reflections on responsibility and service, reminding the new lawyers to reflect not only on what they can do as lawyers, but on what they ought to do.

Two of the new lawyers, Atty. Princess Pilar D. Arpilleda and Atty. Ralph Renzo T. Naquila, expressed gratitude to their law school friends turned fellow lawyers and their families, recognizing that this victory is not theirs alone. They also shared stories of the mentors who pushed them from the halls of the law school to the very gates of the testing center, joking that they still hear their teachers’ voices while answering the exam.

Following the testimonial speeches, the new Agila Lawyers took their Oath of Membership to the USeP SoL Alumni Association, administered by Atty. Haidee D. Abordo-Temblor, Vice President of the Association.

The USeP SoL community congratulates its twenty-four new Agila Lawyers on this important milestone in their journey.
