𝐔𝐒𝐞𝐏-𝐃𝐞𝐯 𝐀𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐫𝐨 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐉𝐨𝐢𝐧 𝟒𝐭𝐡 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐑𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞

In pursuit of knowledge through research, Bachelor of Science in Development Anthropology (BSDA) students from the University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP) successfully presented their research and contributed to the facilitation of 𝘈𝘕𝘛𝘏𝘙𝘖𝘍𝘈𝘐𝘙 2025: 4𝘵𝘩 𝘕𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘚𝘵𝘶𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘙𝘦𝘴𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘤𝘩 𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘧𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦, held via Zoom on April 25–26, 2025.

The event was organized by the Mindanawon Anthropological Society of Ateneo de Davao University (MASA), in partnership with the University of the Philippines Anthropological Society.

Aiming to demystify the nature of research presentations, the activity encouraged healthy discourse on diverse research themes that highlighting critical thinking and academic writing skills among participants.

The BSDA students who proudly presented their research abstracts were 𝑹𝒐𝒃𝒆𝒓𝒕 𝑩𝒆𝒊𝒏𝒏 𝑩𝒂𝒕𝒃𝒂𝒕𝒂𝒏, 𝑱𝒐𝒉𝒏 𝑳𝒐𝒖𝒊𝒔𝒆 𝑷𝒆𝒓𝒏𝒊𝒂, 𝑫𝒊𝒂𝒏𝒆 𝑮𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒆 𝑨𝒍𝒂𝒔𝒂𝒈𝒂𝒔, 𝑴𝒂𝒊𝒄𝒂 𝑮𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒛𝒂, and 𝑵𝒊𝒌𝒌𝒂 𝑱𝒖𝒍𝒊𝒂𝒏𝒂 𝑹𝒂𝒎𝒊𝒓𝒆𝒛, they submitted recorded presentations and actively participated in the Open Forum sessions during the conference.

Behind the successful ex*****on of the event were 𝑹𝒊𝒄𝒉𝒆𝒍𝒍𝒆 𝑮𝒊𝒍𝒘𝒂𝒏𝒐, 𝑨𝒊𝒓𝒆𝒏 𝑴𝒂𝒆 𝑨𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒈𝒂, 𝑹𝒐𝒏𝒏𝒂𝒏 𝑺𝒆𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒏𝒐, 𝑲𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒏𝒆 𝑭𝒂𝒊𝒕𝒉 𝑺𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒐, and 𝑹𝒖𝒆𝒍 𝑰𝒈𝒃𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒄, who assisted in various facilitation roles.

Together, these students showcased the essence of Development Anthropology by excelling in research and contributing to academic discourse not just within their university, but beyond.

𝐆𝐀𝐌𝐄 𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐔𝐋𝐓 | It was a battle of brains for the USeP-CDM Rambakan's first day as teams clashed in the Sudoku competition.

After hours of crunching numbers and solving tricky grids, BSDA took the top spot with a swift finish of 52 minutes and 27 seconds. Placing second was BSCD, with a time of 1 hour, 13 minutes, and 37 seconds.

Then came the real suspense for the third place, with both BSAB and BSAE finishing at 3 hours, 30 minutes, and 35 seconds.

Since their times were identical, the tie-breaker came down to points earned in the Hard Level round.

BSAB clinched third place with 19 points, while BSAE ended up in fourth place with 11 points.

According to the organizers, both teams submitted their solutions at the same time, but the Hard Level scores made all the difference.

Unfortunately, the BPA Crimson Paladins defaulted and was deemed disqualified due to unmet arrival time.

𝐆𝐀𝐌𝐄 𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐔𝐋𝐓 | With charcoal as their medium and creativity as their weapon, participants brought life to their artworks in the Charcoal Rendering Competition held at ALB 3.

The BSDA claimed its place as a champion for the Charcoal Rendering Competition with its remarkable artistry. BSAE secured 1st place, followed by BSCD in 2nd place.

BSAB took 3rd place, while BPA ended up in 4th place.

BSAB Iris Tamaraws was hailed as champion, followed by BSDA Winter Wolves and BCSD Blue Mockingjays.

During the elimination round last night, the BSAB Iris Tamaraws led the game with 3 wins and 0 losses. Followed by BSDA Winter Wolves with 3 wins and 1 loss. The BSAE Green Panthers also secured a spot with 2 wins and 2 losses. Followed by BSCD Blue Mockingjay with 1 win and 2 losses, eliminating the BPA Crimson Paladins with 0 wins and 3 losses.

The semifinals ended in the morning with BSCD Blue Mockingjays and BSAE Green out of the game. Making BSAB and BSDA the last teams standing.

Finally, BSAB Iris Tamaraws won against BSDA Winter Wolves with a score of (2-0)

BSCD secured first runner-up, followed by BSDA as second runner-up, while BSAB and BSAE placed third and fourth, respectively.

𝐆𝐀𝐌𝐄 𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐔𝐋𝐓 | Two voices turn into one as the vocal duet competition commences at the USeP-CDM gymnasium.

The vocal duo from BSAB Iris Tamaraws hailed as champions with their harmonious rendition of "Hanggang Ngayon" by Regine Velasquez; indeed, Tamaraws seized the "Ikaw ang hinintay ko nang kay tagal" moment in defending their title.

Meanwhile, BPA Crimson Paladin's vocal duo secured first runner-up with a heartfelt performance. Closely followed by BSDA Winter Wolves bagging second runner-up.

Rounded out the top five, BSAE Green Panthers and BSCD Blue Mockingjays vocal duo secured the third and fourth runner-up spots, respectively.

𝐆𝐀𝐌𝐄 𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐔𝐋𝐓 | The champion has arrived at the Women's Basketball after thrilling matches at the USeP-CDM Gym.

The unstoppable BSAE Green Panthers dominate the court, crushing the competition with a flawless 4-0 record to seize the victory of the Women's Basketball. BSDA Winter Wolves claimed 1st runner-up spot after falling short against the mighty Green Panthers, finishing with a 3-1 record.

Although they showed relentless determination throughout the competition, their efforts fell short as BPA Crimson Paladins secured 2nd runner-up with 2 hard-fought wins and 2 losses. Moreover, BSCD seized 3rd runner-up; despite a strong start, they struggled to maintain their pace, finishing with a record 1-3.

Finally, BSAB secured 4th runner-up with a 0-4 record after giving their unwavering effort and dedication, but they fell short of securing a victory.

𝐆𝐀𝐌𝐄 𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐔𝐋𝐓 | The Drag Race Competition held on March 27, 2025, at the gymnasium was a dazzling spectacle, stealing the spotlight and captivating the crowd with charisma, high energy, and jaw-dropping performances that left the audience in awe.

The BPA Crimson Paladins emerged as the champion with an impressive score of 95.66%, delivering a remarkable performance with a powerful lip-sync to a remix of "Say Something" by KZ Tandingan and "Mary on a Cross" by Ghost.

Following closely, the BSAE Green Panthers secured the 1st runner-up position with 93.66%, while the BSAB Iris Tamaraws claimed 2nd runner-up with 85.83%.

The BSCD Blue Mockingjays were the 3rd runner-up with 83.99%, and lastly, the BSDA Winter Wolves were the 4th runner-up with 77.16%.
