Every living thing begins somewhere. A seed takes root, a cell begins to divide, and through countless processes, life grows into something greater.
On August 12, 2026, the DMSFI Biology community gathered for ๐ฆ๐๐๐ข๐ ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ฒ: ๐ง๐ต๐ฒ ๐๐ถ๐ผ๐น๐ผ๐ด๐ ๐ฆ๐๐๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ป๐ ๐ข๐ป๐ฏ๐ผ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฑ๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ฃ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ด๐ฟ๐ฎ๐บ โ welcoming another generation of Biology students into a community built on learning, discovery, and shared growth. ๐งฌ๐ฟ
From the opening remarks and introduction to DMSF Biology, the recognition of practicum experiences, and the introduction of BioSEC, students were given a glimpse of the people, opportunities, and experiences that make up their journey beyond the classroom.
The afternoon continued with an introduction to this yearโs event calendar, organizations, committees, projects, external activities, and opportunities for involvement. Through interactive icebreakers and an open forum, SIBOL became more than an orientation โ it became a space to connect, ask questions, and find oneโs place within the Biology community.
Just as last yearโs First General Assembly marked the beginning of a new cohortโs journey, this year carries that growth forward. From one generation to the next, our community continues to branch out, make connections, and create spaces where Biology students can thrive. ๐ฑ
