AdDU SBG Accountancy Cluster welcomes the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) Region XI and the Board of Accountancy (PR BOA) for the Physical Inspection and Monitoring of the Bachelor of Science in Accountancy Program.

A productive exchange between Ateneo de Davao and the PRC BOA took place this morning in the VPHE Workroom on the 7th Floor of the CCFC Building, during the PRC BOA's visit to the BSA Program. The visit, which covered the curriculum, faculty, students, facilities, administration, and review and refresher course offerings, was led by Hon. Thelma S. Ciudadano, CPA, member of the PR BOA, and Mr. Tomasito M. Demegillo, Jr., RN, MAN, representative of PRC RO XI.

The AdDU Higher Education Team, led by Dr. Renante D. Pilapil, Vice President for Higher Education, was in full support, with administrators, faculty, and staff participating in the conversation. In his opening message, Dr. Pilapil welcomed the guests with openness for dialogue, reflection, and continuous improvement to better the services the BSA program offers.

The dialogue centered on the inquiry into and sharing of best practices of the AdDU BSA Program, presented by Dr. Cleofe A. Arib, CPA, Chair of the BSA program, showcasing CPALE results, accreditations, significant achievements, and milestones, as well as the policies implemented over the years to prepare students to meet the professional accountant's standards of integrity and objectivity. A highlight was the suggestion of PR BOA for AdDU Accountancy to consider offering refresher courses for CPALE examinees who may need to "enroll and complete at least 24 units of subjects for the licensure examination."

The Ateneo de Davao School of Business and Governance hosts the Sustainability Reporting Kickoff Meeting, Stakeholder Mapping, and Materiality Workshop at the Bapa Benny Tudtud Auditorium.

Following the success of the Pakighinabi early this year, the Management Accounting Department spearheaded part two of the University's Sustainability Reporting by gathering University Stakeholders on August 10, 2026, at the Bapa Benny Tudtud Auditorium.

In her opening message, Dr. Margie J. Clavano, CPA, Dean of Ateneo SBG, bridged the conversation in January with the next steps for the preparation of the University's first Sustainability Reporting covering two academic years 2024 - 2026, in accordance with the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Framework, in collaboration with the Community Engagement and Sustainable Development Office (CESDO), guided by the professional expertise of colleagues from Punongbayan & Araullo (P&A Grant Thornton), the partner firm for this engagement.

Fr. Antonio M. Basilio, SJ, Vice President for Research, Innovations, and Community Engagement, emphasized in his message the importance of grounding the SR journey in reflection, accountability, collaboration, and responsible stewardship.

Representing P&A Grant Thornton were Mr. Michael C. Gallego, CPA, Partner and Practice Leader, Advisory Services; Mr. Lucky L. Cimatu, CPA, Sustainability and Climate Change Senior Manager, Advisory Services; Ms. Jemma Callueng; and Mr. Khyle Caragan, Consultants for Sustainability and Climate. The team facilitated the materiality assessment of topics, the presentation and validation of survey results, and the group presentation of survey insights, conducted by participants in groups.

AdDU SBG is grateful to all our university stakeholders who took the time to attend and participate in the conversation for the preparation of the University's first sustainability report. As we move forward to becoming a Sustainable University, may we continue to listen, ask, reflect, and be better, for a shared purpose leads to a greater impact. AMDG.

SBG's AQUINO LEADS ADDU CLASS OF 2026

Last 20 June 2026, Ateneo de Davao University's Class of 2026 marched towards their success as they graced their Commencement Exercises. SBG takes distinct pride as our very own Hannah O. Aquino, Bachelor of Public Management, led this year's batch of 1,511 graduates as its Class Valedictorian. Hannah has also been conferred with the Leadership Award for embodying the university's leadership ideals.

SBG also takes special pride in its School Awardees. For the Accountancy Cluster, the School Award has been conferred upon Enrico Daniel B. David, Bachelor of Science in Accountancy. For the Business and Management Cluster, the School Award has been conferred upon Ashley Kate M. Miranda, Bachelor of Science in Business Management.

SBG is also immensely proud of its graduates who have been awarded with Latin Honors. Remarkably, SBG students make up a consistent and impressive share across all distinctions—13 of 37 Summa Cum Laude graduates (35.14%), 34 of 100 Magna Cum Laude graduates (34%), and 57 of 163 Cum Laude honorees (34.97%).

Ateneo de Davao School of Business and Governance completes the first Academic and Cultural Study Visit in Seoul, South Korea.

The AdDU SBG administrators, faculty, and staff, led by our Dean, Dr. Margie J. Clavano, CPA, Margie Joyno, participated in the International Study Visit program of the Ateneo Internationalization for Mindanao (AIM) Office from May 24 to 31, 2026.

Cultural.
The ISV program immersed the AdDU SBG Community in South Korea's rich culture, visiting iconic and sacred sites in Seoul, learning basic Korean greetings, trying on a Hanbok, and tasting various Korean dishes.

Academic.
Three higher education institutions warmly welcomed the AdDU SBG Community: Kyung Hee University, Yonsei University, and Sogang University, the only Jesuit School in South Korea. The visits, filled with meaningful dialogues and sharing of best and sustainable practices, sparked collaborative opportunities for the AdDU SBG Community, including faculty and student exchanges, postgraduate scholarships, research, educational tours, and Collaborative Online International Learning (COIL).

Technology Company and Korea Exchange (KRX) Visits.
A wow experience for AdDU SBG at the Samsung Innovation Museum and Goyang Hyundai Motors Studio. These leading companies showed how technology drove change, innovation, and creativity. The KRX demonstrated the stock trading now and then, and shared that it was the first time during the visit that tourists witnessed the Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) at 8,047.51, a good indicator for the South Korean economy.

Philippine Embassy in Seoul.
The cordial reception by Her Excellency Bernadette Therese C. Fernandez and her team at the Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines, Seoul, Republic of Korea, led to a heartfelt appreciation for the work of our leaders in public service, and an invitation to continue being partners in mission, to be persons for and with others, and to engage in intentional actions for the common good.

The AdDU SBG Community is grateful to Ateneo de Davao University for the opportunity to strengthen linkages, enhance curriculum design, and make our programs and course offerings more relevant, up-to-date, and innovative. Gamsahamnida! AMDG.

Based on the official results released by the Professional Regulation Commission, ADDU achieved a passing rate of 41.18% in the Certified Public Accountant Licensure Examination held in May 2026, significantly higher than the national passing rate of 30.83%.

JPMAP- ADDU Dominates 21st National Convention, Wins Multiple Championships

Ateneo de Davao University’s (ADDU) Junior People Management Association of the Philippines (JPMAP) delegation delivered a commanding performance at the 21st JPMAP National Convention, clinching multiple championships and top placements across academic and non-academic competitions.

Thirteen delegates from the Human Resource Development and Management Department represented ADDU in the national-level event, held on April 25–26, 2026, at Camp Benjamin in Cavite.
The ADDU delegation emerged as champion in the HR Program Design competition, represented by third-year students Kristine Jatico, Justine Adrian Hocamis, Cybelle Anne Marcelo, and Charlie Camilo. In the HR Case Competition, the team composed of Hannah May Rivera, Bob Jarek Catequista, and Yana Cainoy also secured the championship title.

In the Essay Writing competition, Niel Mark Sobrecarey clinched the championship, while Mikaela Legarta earned first runner-up. The HR Quiz Bee team composed of Kierzzyll Alagano, Clarisa Barolo, and Elle Namie Macabiog also achieved first runner-up.
Beyond academic competitions, the delegates excelled in non-academic events. Justine Hocamis and Kristine Jatico won the Advocacy Video Competition in the male and female categories, respectively. Hocamis’ video highlighted the responsible use of artificial intelligence, while Jatico’s entry focused on environmental stewardship. Jatico further distinguished herself by winning the HR Queen title.

Additional recognitions were awarded to Bob Jarek Catequista and Ezeil Daugdaug, who received thr Best Smile awards in the male and female categories at the Fellowship Night, respectively. Jatico also earned the distinction of Most Participative Student, rounding out her impressive list of achievements.

The ADDU delegation also participated in JPMAP Got Talent, represented by Ezeil Daugdaug, Elle Namie Macabiog, Yana Cainoy, Clarisa Barolo, and Cybelle Anne Marcelo, as well as various team-building activities during the convention.

Overall, the delegation’s performance underscored their excellence, teamwork, and commitment to the field of human resource management.
