HCDC Community Joins Reef-to-Ridge Tree Growing and Read-Aloud Activities in Monkayo

The delegation, composed of students, alumni, teaching personnel, and non-teaching personnel, joined Ayala employee volunteers and members of the Basakawa People's Cooperative in the tree-growing activity at the Monkayo-Pag-asa Carbon Forest, Barangay Banlag, Monkayo, Davao de Oro.

HCDC’s participation contributes to advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals ( ), particularly (Clean Water and Sanitation), (Sustainble Cities and Communities), (Climate Action), (Life on Land), and (Partnership for the Goals).

Ex Fide Ad Veritatem!

The Holy Cross of Davao College (HCDC) community appreciates the value of life, peace, unity, and solidarity. As one Catholic Archdiocesan Educational Institution, we stand in solidarity with the Ateneo de Zamboanga University (AdZU) community following the tragic shooting incident that happened on August 18, 2026. Our sincerest sympathies go to those students and individuals who were injured, their families, friends, and everyone affected by this sad event.

HCDC community is praying for the eternal repose of the souls of those who died, recovery of those who were injured, and calling for compassion, unity, and peace. As a community, HCDC believes that no member of an academic community should have to face any form of violence or fear in a place dedicated to learning, growth, and service.

HCDC community condemns all forms of violence and expresses our compassionate support for the entire AdZU community in finding strength and comfort with one another. May this incident remind all of us of our shared values, accountabilities, and responsibilities in taking care of our brothers and sisters and to raise the awareness on valuing life as a God-given gift.
