[𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗚𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗨𝗟𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗦!] The University of Southeastern Philippines warmly congratulates former Presidents Dr. Eduardo A. Araral, Sr. and Dr. Julieta I. Ortiz on being conferred the 2026 Most Distinguished Alumni Award by the University of Southern Mindanao (USM).

Recognized during USM’s 72nd Founding Anniversary, Dr. Araral and Dr. Ortiz join the ranks of distinguished USM alumni honored for their achievements and contributions to their respective fields.

Both leaders hold a significant place in USeP’s history. Dr. Eduardo A. Araral, Sr. served as the University’s second President, while Dr. Julieta I. Ortiz became its fourth- and first-woman President. Their respective leadership contributed to the University’s development and advancement of higher education and public service.
Their recognition by their alma mater reflects the enduring contributions of two academic leaders whose careers have become part of USeP’s institutional history.

Congratulations, Dr. Araral and Dr. Ortiz!

The University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP) informs the public and the USeP community that a fraudulent email account is impersonating USeP President Dr. Bonifacio G. Gabales, Jr.

The fraudulent email address identified is: [email protected]

The sender is using the President’s name and photograph and may send messages that appear to come from the President, including requests for money, financial assistance, or other transactions.

Please be advised that this is NOT an official email address of the University President or of the University of Southeastern Philippines.

The University President does not solicit money, donations, or financial assistance from individuals or organizations, nor does he authorize or consent to the use of his name, position, or photograph for any such solicitation.

The University also cautions that other fraudulent email accounts may be created using the President’s name, photograph, or similar identifiers.

PLEASE BE VIGILANT
If you receive a suspicious message purportedly from the President:
❌ Do not respond to the sender.
❌ Do not send money or make any payment.
❌ Do not provide bank details, passwords, personal information, or other sensitive information.
❌ Do not click on links or open attachments from suspicious or unverified accounts.
✅ Verify any unusual request directly with the Office of the President through the official email address: [email protected]

Please do not rely solely on the sender’s name, profile photo, or other identifying information to determine whether a message is legitimate.

The USeP community and the public are urged to exercise extra caution and vigilance to prevent fraud, unauthorized transactions, and the disclosure of sensitive information.

[𝗔𝗗𝗩𝗜𝗦𝗢𝗥𝗬] A little pause can make a difference.

In support of student well-being and a balanced academic experience, the University will observe a Mental Health Break on October 19-24, 2026.

For the School of Medicine, the Mental Health Break will be observed on October 8–9 and 12–14, 2026.

This break offers our students a chance to step back from the demands of the semester, take time to rest and recharge, and return with renewed energy and focus.

Take this time to pause, breathe, and care for yourself. Your well-being matters.

𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝗶𝘀 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗣𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲𝘀’ 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗵.

This October, the University of Southeastern Philippines joins the nation in celebrating the 29th Indigenous Peoples’ Month and commemorating the 29th anniversary of the Indigenous Peoples Rights Act (IPRA) of 1997.

Guided by this year’s theme, “Empowering Indigenous Peoples: Strengthening Rights, Culture and Ancestral Domain,” the observance calls attention to the rights of Indigenous Cultural Communities/Indigenous Peoples (ICCs/IPs), the preservation of their cultural heritage, and the protection of their ancestral domains.

At the University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP), the presence of members from diverse Indigenous communities enriches our academic community with distinct histories, knowledge systems, traditions, and perspectives. Their contributions remind us that education and development must recognize cultural identity, respect Indigenous knowledge, and create spaces where Indigenous voices are heard and valued.

The IPRA affirms the rights of ICCs/IPs to their ancestral domains, self-governance and empowerment, cultural integrity, and social justice and human rights. These rights call for continued recognition and respect, not only through laws and policies, but also through the everyday actions of institutions and communities.

As a University committed to education, research, and community engagement, USeP recognizes the importance of advancing inclusive learning, respecting Indigenous knowledge systems and practices, and supporting the aspirations of Indigenous communities. Empowerment means upholding their right to shape their own futures while protecting the lands, cultures, and traditions that sustain their identities.

This month, may we deepen our understanding of Indigenous Peoples’ rights and recognize that meaningful development must go hand in hand with cultural respect, self-determination, and the protection of ancestral domains.

[𝗨𝗦𝗲𝗣 𝗦𝗻𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗲𝘁𝘀] Rebuilding Lives, One Step at a Time

Behind every survivor's journey of healing is a community that believes in second chances. Through the Rebuilding Opportunities for Survivors of Abuse (ROSA) Program 101, USeP CEd's extension program in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) – Home for Girls and Women (HGW), survivors are supported and trained to regain their self-worth, autonomy, and productivity and become productive members of their families and communities.

The program provides psychosocial support, skills and livelihood training, monitoring, inter-agency networking, and post-assessment and program evaluation, helping survivors take meaningful steps toward a brighter future.

[𝐑𝐄𝐂𝐄𝐍𝐓𝐋𝐘 𝐂𝐎𝐍𝐂𝐋𝐔𝐃𝐄𝐃] The University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP) Mintal Campus held its 2026 Family Day Celebration on September 28, bringing personnel together for a morning of recreation, fellowship, and renewed commitment to public service. The activity formed part of the University’s observance of the 126th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary, themed “Bawat Kawani, Lingkod Bayani: Puso, Dangal, at Galing Para sa Bayan.”

The celebration opened with a flag-raising ceremony and a Zumba warm-up, followed by opening remarks from Campus Director Dr. Aristeo C. Salapa. Personnel then took part in a Cheers and Yells Competition, with the Blue, Green, Red, and Yellow teams bringing energy and creativity to the gathering.

The campus program also featured pickleball, badminton, and table tennis at the USeP Mintal Gymnasium, alongside a movie marathon at designated campus venues. Closing remarks from Dr. Grace Meroflor A. Lantajo, Dean of the College of Development Management, and a fellowship lunch rounded out the celebration.

The activities reflected the University’s commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The warm-up, sports, and opportunities for rest and social connection aligned with SDG 3: Good Health and Well-Being by encouraging physical activity and supporting personnel well-being. The celebration also aligned with SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth through its emphasis on employee wellness, collegial relationships, and a positive work environment.

As colleagues cheered for their teams and spent time together beyond their usual work routines, Family Day created opportunities to strengthen participation and a sense of belonging across the campus. In this way, the activity also reflected SDG 16: Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, particularly its emphasis on inclusive and participatory institutions.

More than a day of shared activities, the USeP Mintal Campus Family Day was a reminder that personnel with different roles and strengths are united by one purpose: to serve with 𝘱𝘶𝘴𝘰, 𝘥𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘢𝘭, and 𝘨𝘢𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘨 for the communities they serve.

[𝗟𝗢𝗢𝗞] USeP celebrates Family Day across campuses

The University of Southeastern Philippines (USeP), across its campuses, conducted its 2026 USeP Family Day on September 28, 2026, in observance of the 126th Philippine Civil Service Anniversary (PCSA).

Carrying the theme, “Bawat Kawani, Lingkod Bayani: Puso, Dangal, at Galing Para sa Bayan,” the celebration featured wellness, team-building, and fellowship activities aimed at strengthening collegial relationships and promoting employee well-being.

University President Dr. Bonifacio G. Gabales, Jr. delivered a message recognizing the contributions of USeP personnel and emphasizing the importance of working together in fulfilling the University’s public service mandate.

The activity brought together personnel across USeP’s campuses, providing opportunities for meaningful interaction beyond their regular work functions while reinforcing a shared commitment to service.

The 2026 Family Day forms part of USeP’s participation in the annual PCSA and its continuing efforts to support a positive, healthy, and collaborative work environment.

[𝗔𝗗𝗩𝗜𝗦𝗢𝗥𝗬] The University of Southeastern Philippines will implement alternative class and work arrangements from 29 September to 3 October 2026 due to the nationwide transport strike and scheduled campus maintenance activities.

In-person transactions will be limited, with designated offices continuing to accommodate urgent walk-in transactions and essential frontline services.

All transacting clients are encouraged to utilize online payment methods and access USeP online services for their transactions, including requests for academic documents.
