On August 11, 2026, the IR-4 Community Development course, in partnership with the Information Technology Education (ITE) Program and ITE Sincotecs, successfully conducted the turnover of collected donations to Barangay Talomo Proper in support of families affected by the recent flooding. The activity was part of the ITE Community Donation Drive organized to extend meaningful assistance to the affected community.
The IR-4 Relief Team prepared and organized the collected donations for the scheduled turnover. The donations were collected from Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) students and included essential items such as canned goods, milk, coffee, shampoo, conditioner, soap, toothpaste, instant noodles, rice, and water.
The donations were transported to Barangay Talomo Proper for the turnover. Upon arrival, the IR-4 Relief Team, in collaboration with the ITE Sincotecs, proceeded with the formal turnover of the donated items to the barangay. The Donation Drive Inventory Report was presented to the receiving representative, Angurie Mananghi, Barangay Talomo Secretary, for verification to confirm the completeness and accuracy of the donations being received.
After the verification, the receiving representative acknowledged receipt of the donated items by signing the inventory documentation. The Talomo Community Donation Drive was successfully completed. The activity was able to extend assistance to families affected by the recent flooding in Barangay Talomo Proper.
We extend our gratitude to School President, Vice President of Academic Affairs (VPAA), ITE Program Head / IR-4 Instructor, Mr. Ser Jamier L. Llego, Research for Development Extension and Innovation (REIDI), Office of Student Affairs and Services (OSAS), ITE students, and community members from Teacher's Village, Doรฑa Rosa, San Roque, Lapu Lapu St., and Barangay Alambre for their support, generosity, and valuable contributions to the success of the community donation drive. We also extend our sincere appreciation to Sir Erwin Acedillo for providing transportation service to the team, ensuring their safe and convenient travel to and from the activity. We also thank the Barangay Talomo driver for assisting with the transportation and pick-up of the donated items within the barangay.
This activity demonstrated the importance of compassion, volunteerism, cooperation, and bayanihan, while providing students with an opportunity to apply the principles of Community Development through actual community engagement and service. Despite the small population of ITE students, their collective efforts, generosity, and willingness to help made it possible to gather meaningful donations and extend assistance to families affected by the recent flooding. This showed that the impact of a community initiative is not measured by the numbers of people involved, but the willingness of each individual to contribute and make a difference.
