OFFICIAL STATEMENT | Progress Updates on the Endorsement of OCBO Requirements & Tentative Date of Renovation Completion
TO: The Mapúa MCM Community

Greetings to the Mapúa MCM Community!

We would like to give current updates regarding progress on the building’s renovation and the return to face-to-face.

As of January 16, 2026, the Structural Condition Assessment Report of the Mapúa MCM Administration and Academic Buildings together with the proposed Structural Repair and Strengthening Methodology was completed and submitted to the Office of the City Building Official (OCBO). Currently, the institution with its third-party consultant (AC Pama Engineering Consultancy) is completing the Structural Analysis that will be derived from the submitted reports and is committed to submitting it before February 15, 2026, to OCBO.

Once we receive the necessary permit and approval from OCBO, the repairs, renovations, and retrofitting of the buildings are expected to be completed by May 31, 2026.

We thank you for your patience, and we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and anxiety that this has caused everyone. Rest assured, the institution is committed to taking the necessary steps towards ensuring that the campus you all return to is not only repaired but strengthened and improved.

OFFICIAL STATEMENT | Updates on Ongoing Planning and Comprehensive Report Timeline

Mapúa Malayan Colleges Mindanao (Mapúa MCM) has received the official recommendations from the Office of the City Building Official (OCBO) regarding the next steps for the campus safety assessment and repair process.

In line with this, the institution will immediately finalize the repair timelines and implement subsequent actions in adherence to the OCBO requirements.

All classes will continue to be held online until further notice, in adherence to safety measures. Students may also continue to claim their personal belongings at the front area of the campus following previously announced schedules and procedures.

Mapúa MCM remains steadfast in prioritizing the safety, well-being, and learning continuity of its community. Further updates will be communicated through official channels once the comprehensive plan has been finalized.

Dear Mapúan Community!

In times of stress and uncertainty, finding space to pause and care for yourself is essential. The Center for Guidance and Counselling warmly invites you to a Psychological Debriefing + Wellness Session entitled: "Mental Aftershocks: Coping With Care" this October 15, 2025 (Wednesday) from 1:00PM to 3:00PM via MS Teams.

This is open to all Mapúa MCM students and employees.

If you are still having difficulty coping after the earthquake, please consider joining the session. Remember, you do not have to go through this alone.
