The event, held at the ๐๐ฎ๐ฝ๐ฎ ๐๐ฒ๐ป๐ป๐ ๐ง๐๐ฑ๐๐๐ฑ ๐๐๐ฑ๐ถ๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐ถ๐๐บ on the AdDU Jacinto Campus, brought together artists and learners to engage in Mindanao-based cultural development and performance making. The UIC participation was part of an ongoing partnership with the ๐๐ฎ๐๐ฎ๐ผ ๐๐ผ๐น๐น๐ฒ๐ด๐ฒ๐ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐จ๐ป๐ถ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ๐๐ถ๐๐ถ๐ฒ๐ ๐ก๐ฒ๐๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐ธ (๐๐๐๐จ๐ก) ๐๐๐น๐๐๐ฟ๐ฒ ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐๐ฟ๐๐ ๐๐ผ๐บ๐บ๐ถ๐๐๐ฒ๐ฒ and was officially endorsed by ๐๐ฟ. ๐๐ผ๐น๐น๐ ๐๐ฒ๐ฎ๐ป ๐ฆ๐ถ๐บ๐ฏ๐๐น๐ฎ๐, College Dean, and instructor ๐ ๐. ๐ ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ ๐ฅ๐ผ๐๐ฒ ๐ฅ. ๐๐ผ๐๐ฒ.
The workshop commenced at 9:00 AM with an introduction by the keynote speaker, ๐ ๐ฟ. ๐๐ฎ๐ป ๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐บ๐ฎ๐ฐ๐ถ๐ผ๐ป, who outlined the programโs duration and the core concepts of satirical performance. The session was designed to push the boundaries of traditional performance through several key stages, beginning with vocal and facial warm-ups before diving into the ๐ด
๐๐ฎ๐๐ถ๐ฐ ๐๐ณ๐ณ๐ผ๐ฟ๐๐ ๐ผ๐ณ ๐ง๐ต๐ฒ๐ฎ๐๐ฒ๐ฟ, which serve as the foundation for satirical acts. Students were later tasked with "wearing" characters from society, portraying roles ranging from doctors and canteen staff to athletes.
Following a lunch break and a tour of the AdDU campus, Mr. Formacion discussed the essential elements of scriptwriting, leading into an intensive preparation period for a mini-recital. The highlight of the day featured teams of two actors taking the stage to showcase their original works. Out of the various performing groups, the UIC delegatio โcomposed of ๐๐๐ฎ๐ป๐ฒ ๐๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฑ๐ฒ๐ป, ๐ฆ๐ต๐ฒ๐น๐๐ถ๐ป ๐๐ผ๐๐ฒ ๐ฆ๐ถ๐๐ป๐ฒ๐ฟ๐ผ๐, ๐๐บ๐ฏ๐ฒ๐ฟ ๐๐ฟ๐ถ๐ฎ๐ป๐ป๐ฎ ๐ ๐ฒ๐บ๐ฏ๐ฟ๐ฒ๐๐ฒ, ๐๐ฒ๐ป๐ป๐ถ๐ ๐ฅ๐ต๐ผ๐ฑ๐ฒ๐น ๐๐ฟ๐ป๐ฎ๐ฑ๐ผ, ๐ฎ๐ป๐ฑ ๐๐น๐ถ๐๐ฎ๐ฏ๐ฒ๐๐ต ๐๐ผ๐ฟ๐ผ๐ท๐ผ๐ฟ๐ผโstood out as the guest competing school among participants from Ateneo. Their performance, titled "๐๐ป๐ด ๐๐ฒ๐บ๐ผ๐ป๐๐ผ ๐๐ฎ ๐๐ถ๐ธ๐ผ๐ฑ ๐ป๐ด ๐ฆ๐ถ๐บ๐ฏ๐ฎ๐ต๐ฎ๐ป," captured the attention of both the mentor and the audience, showcasing the delegates' ability to blend social commentary with creative expression.
For the BPED delegates, the workshop was more than just a performance; it served as a lesson in social awareness and personal growth. Mr. Duane Harden, one of the participants, noted that the experience allowed him to see societal realities through the lens of creativity and confidence. He expressed that the workshop successfully boosted the passion and dreams within the BPED community. The program concluded at 6:00 PM, leaving the delegates with a strengthened network of fellow artists and a deeper understanding of embodied practices.
