ADVISORY | Temporary Shift to Online Learning

In view of ongoing campus safety and security measures, Ateneo de Davao University will temporarily implement online learning for both the Higher Education and Basic Education Units.

HIGHER EDUCATION, including the College of Law

Classes will shift to online modality from August 24โ€“29, 2026.

Undergraduate Preliminary Examinations originally scheduled during this period will be moved to August 31โ€“September 5, 2026. RLE duties for the School of Nursing, Internship, Field Work, and Field Study will proceed as scheduled, while on-campus RLE activities will shift online. Higher Education academic offices will remain open.

BASIC EDUCATION

All Basic Education classes will continue via synchronous online learning from August 24โ€“28, 2026. Respective school Principals will provide specific schedules, guidelines, and further instructions through official communication channels.

These temporary and precautionary measures will allow the University to continue assessing reported security concerns, strengthen campus safety protocols, and support the community's well-being and preparedness.

We ask everyone to remain calm, vigilant, and responsible. Please refrain from sharing unverified reports, posts, or screenshots that may cause unnecessary fear, and continue to monitor official University and school communication channels for updates.

A blessing becomes even more meaningful when it is shared.

Through their Mass offerings, the students of Ateneo de Davao University Junior High School come together in solidarity with families and communities affected by flash floods and other calamities.

The collected offerings were entrusted to San Pablo Parish, to repack the goods for distribution to those who are in need.

This simple gesture reminds us that being a community of faith means looking beyond ourselvesโ€”to notice the needs of others, to respond generously, and to accompany those who are going through difficult times.

May this offering be a small but meaningful expression of the Ignatian spirit of being men and women for and with others.

May God transform our generosity into hope and our faith into loving service.

We stand one with Ateneo de Zamboanga University, accompanying their community with our prayers and entrusting to God all those who are grieving, hurting, and searching for peace.

In the spirit of St. Ignatius, may we learn to find God in this momentโ€”in the silence of prayer, in the compassion we extend, and in our shared longing for peace and protection.

May the Lord, who knows the depths of every heart, bring comfort to those who mourn and give us the grace to become men and women for others, especially in times when hope is most needed.

In Maryโ€™s Assumption, we are reminded that our lives are ultimately journeying toward God.

Yet the road toward Him is not always easy.

There are days filled with light and days marked by uncertainty. There are moments when our mission feels clear, and moments when all we can do is pause, pray, discern, and trust.

Through it all, Mary shows us the wayโ€”a woman who knew how to listen, ponder, trust, and respond to Godโ€™s call.

Her life was not centered on herself, but on Christ.

So today, we do not simply ask Mary to lead us. We also ask for the grace to live as she did:

with hearts open to God,
with faith courageous enough to say fiat,
and with lives sent forth to love and serve.

For eight days, the Ateneo community comes together in prayer as we journey with Mary toward the celebration of the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
In Mary, we encounter a woman whose faith was expressed not only in words, but in a life generously offered to God. Her yes was a yes to a missionโ€”a willingness to trust, to accompany, and to serve.

As we pray this novena, may Mary teach us to recognize Godโ€™s invitations in our own lives. May we, like her, have the courage to say yes even when the path is uncertain, trusting that God is already present and at work.
