Spelled as "pi" and pronounced as "pie"๐Ÿฅง, today we celebrate one of the most famous numbers in mathematicsโ€”ฯ€ (pi). It is celebrated on the 3rd month and the 14th day of the year, representing the value of pi, 3.14.

Pi represents the ratio of a circleโ€™s circumference to its diameter, a number that continues infinitely without repeating.

Pi wasnโ€™t always known as pi. Before the 1700s, people referred to the number we know as pi as โ€œthe quantity which when the diameter is multiplied by it, yields the circumferenceโ€. Not surprisingly, people got tired of saying so much whenever they wanted to talk about Pi. The Welsh mathematician William Jones, a friend of Sir Isaac Newton, began using the symbol for pi in 1706. The ๐‘บ๐’๐’„๐’Š๐’†๐’•๐’š ๐’๐’‡ ๐‘ด๐’‚๐’•๐’‰๐’†๐’Ž๐’‚๐’•๐’Š๐’„๐’” ๐‘ฌ๐’๐’•๐’‰๐’–๐’”๐’Š๐’‚๐’”๐’•๐’” successfully wrapped up its 2nd General Assembly last January 23, 2026. It was a productive day that gave members the opportunity to be fully informed about the current status of SME; covering the activities already conducted, upcoming plans, financial expenses, remaining balance, and the transparency and liquidation of where the organizationโ€™s funds were allocated.

From the 1st year to 4th year, SME members were well represented, showing a strong sense of unity and active participation of the members in helping the organization reach its goals in the near future.
