St. John Paul II College Seminary of Digos A formation house for young men aspiring to become a priest for the ministry of the Roman Catholic DIocese of Digos, Davao Del Sur St. Generoso Camiña.

John Paul II Seminary is the first and the only seminary in the province of Davao del Sur located in Kibanban, Sinawilan, Digos City. The plan of building a seminary was initiated by the late Bp. However, it was Bp. Guillermo Afable who pushed forward the project. The seminary was named after Pope John Paul II who appointed the first two Bishops of the Diocese of Digos .As of this moment; it is a

pre-college seminary that offers a one-year formation, basic academic training and spiritual formation to students before they are sent to a formal college seminary.

Last Thursday, the seminarians emerged victorious as champions in the Volleyball Division of the Mary Mediatrix of All Grace Cathedral (MMC) 75th Jubilee Sports Tournament.

The entire seminary community beams with immense pride for this remarkable achievement. All those intense training sessions, dedication, and tireless hard work have truly paid off! Beyond the thrill of the win, this tournament served as a beautiful display of sportsmanship and fraternity.

As we look forward to celebrating the historic Diamond Jubilee Feast of Mary Mediatrix of All Grace Cathedral, we offer this triumph as a testament to communion, faith, and joy through sports.

Throughout the weekend, the seminarians from the Propaedeutic Stage to the Configuration Stage participated in the Intergenerational Healing Retreat facilitated by the Healing Missionaries of the Holy Spirit Community.
During the retreat, participants introduced themselves, shared their experiences, engaged in the activities, processed their wounds, encountered the Blessed Eucharist, and prayed together during Holy Mass.
This retreat helps seminarians understand themselves more deeply and significantly contributes to their human formation.
The seminary community invites everyone to join us in prayer for these seminarians as they integrate the graces of this retreat into their ongoing formation. Furthermore, we express our sincere appreciation to the Healing Missionaries of the Holy Spirit Community for their invaluable facilitation and steadfast support of priestly formation. May the Lord continue to bless their mission abundantly.

Energy and sportsmanship filled the air last Wednesday as our seminary community and invited guests gathered for the grand opening of the Totus Tuus Cup 2026!
This annual sports tournament features four competing teams— 𝐒𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐭 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐰, 𝐒𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐭 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤, 𝐒𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐭 𝐋𝐮𝐤𝐞, and 𝐒𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐭 𝐉𝐨𝐡𝐧 —set to go head-to-head in basketball, volleyball, and various sporting events. The festivities opened with an enthusiastic parade around the seminary and the diocesan compound, echoed by lively team chants and cheers.

Following the Parade of Colors and Opening Prayer, the program proper showcased electrifying cheer presentations from each team and the procession of team muses. The excitement reached its peak with the ceremonial Lighting of the Flame, officially signaling the start of the tournament.

The competition kicked into high gear immediately after, featuring an action-packed opening basketball match between Saint Matthew and Saint Luke!
May this tournament foster deep brotherhood, discipline, and healthy sportsmanship throughout the formation year.

As we look back at the years He has guided our beloved seminary, our hearts overflow with profound thanksgiving for every blessing, challenge, and grace that shaped who we are today.

Guided by the maternal intercession of Our Lady and the steadfast spirit of our formation home, we celebrate another milestone of God's faithfulness.

Let us come together in unity tonight and offer our prayers and praise back to the Lord for our anniversary liturgy:
