The Office of Education and Research of the UP School of Statistics Student Council collects information to determine your attendance in the upcoming tutorial session for the 2nd Long Exam in Stat 131 / Parametric Statistical Inference Course.

The session will be conducted on November 7, 2025 (Fri). 5:30pm to 7:30pm, via Google Meet.
This form shall serve as the confirmation of your attendance to either one of the two sessions.

Kumusta, Estadistiko ng Bayan?

The Office of Education and Research of the UP School of Statistics Student Council collects information to determine your attendance in the upcoming tutorial session for the November Long Exams in Stat 114 / Descriptive Statistics.

The said review session shall cover Chapters 6 to 9 of the Elementary Statistics Book.
There shall be two sessions, and both shall be held on November 3, 2025 (Monday).

The first session will be held via Google Meet/Zoom (to be confirmed), from 9:30 am - 12:00 pm.
The second session will be held in person at the UP School of Statistics Building, Room 309, from 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm.

This form shall serve as the confirmation of your attendance to either one of the two sessions. This will be open until October 31, 2025 (Friday).

Happy World Statistics Day!

In celebration of this day, we turn to how statistics help us understand the patterns that shape our lives. From everyday decisions to natural events, data allows us to see connections and uncover stories hidden in numbers.

One of these stories is told by the ground beneath our feet. The Philippines is not just an archipelago; it is a country literally positioned on the brink of two colliding worlds. It is one of the most earthquake-prone nations in the world and is situated right on the fiery edge of the Pacific Ring of Fire.

The Philippine Sea Plate and Eurasian Plate continue to grind and push against one another beneath its magnificent beaches and majestic mountains, building up enormous pressure that is instantly released as earthquakes. With thousands of faults cutting across the nation, the ground under the archipelago never truly rests.

Shown in this post are some useful information and key statistics regarding earthquakes and their presence in our country.
