Mindanao State Universityโ€“Maguindanao successfully completed its ISO 9001:2015 External Recertification Audit on September 24, 2026, covering the scope โ€œAdmission of New Graduate Students and its Support Processes.โ€

The audit assessed the Universityโ€™s implementation and effectiveness of its Quality Management System (QMS) in ensuring that the admission of new graduate students is supported by established, documented, and consistently implemented processes.

The audit involved key offices and support processes, including the Quality Management System Management and Support Office (QMSSO), Management Evaluation and Support Office (MESO), Procurement, Procurement and Management Office, Training and Development Office , Human Resource Management Office (HRMO), and Records Management Office. These offices presented relevant processes, documents, records, and other objective evidence demonstrating the Universityโ€™s commitment to meeting applicable requirements and continually improving its services.

A significant factor in the successful conduct of the recertification audit was the strong support and commitment of the University Management to the Quality Management System. This institutional support reinforces the Universityโ€™s culture of quality and provides direction for the sustained implementation and continual improvement of its QMS.

More than a certification, the QMS represents MSU-Maguindanaoโ€™s continuing commitment to quality, accountability, effective service delivery, and continual improvement in support of its students and stakeholders.

Mindanao State Universityโ€“Maguindanao Chancellor Dr. Bai Hejira Nefertiti M. Limbona served as one of the panel discussants during the Asia Women Leaders International Summit 2026, held in Bangkok, Thailand, on September 16โ€“17, 2026.

Her presentation, "Educating for Peace: Higher Education as an Instrument of Recovery in Post-Conflict Bangsamoro," examined how universities can expand access to learning, promote women's leadership, and contribute to lasting peace in communities emerging from conflict.

Drawing from MSU-Maguindanaoโ€™s experience, Chancellor Limbona cited the Universityโ€™s Diploma in Women, Peace and Security and its efforts to make higher education more responsive to disadvantaged communities.

By taking part in AWLF International Summit 2026, Chancellor Limbona further amplified MSU-Maguindanao's presence in regional discussions on peace and development, reflecting the University's sustained dedication to the Women, Peace and Security agenda and its resolve to keep higher education at the forefront of the Bangsamoro's path toward recovery and inclusive growth.
