The department recently held a virtual meeting with the Department of Education (DepEd) – Schools Division of Toledo City to discuss a proposed partnership for the AI Ready Educators training program.

The collaboration aims to provide DepEd teachers with capacity-building activities on the responsible integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in teaching, learning, and research. Both institutions also explored future initiatives in research, technical assistance, and innovation to support digital transformation and develop AI-ready educators.

Let’s hear it for our BS Computer Science and BS Information Technology students! They just wrapped up the rigorous KOICA Advanced Big Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence Training Program and received their Certificates of Recognition!

For over a month (June 22 - July 30), our student-trainees dove deep into the world of AI and Big Data Analytics over at the HNU–SU KOICA DX Center. Thank you to KOICA, Hannam University, and Silliman University for this massive opportunity to level up our students' skills!

The department successfully concluded its six-day Extension Training-Workshop on ICT Literacy – Phase 2 in Barangay Cantil-e, Dumaguete City, last June 20, 2026. The program benefited barangay officials, staff, parents, and youth by equipping them with essential ICT knowledge and practical digital skills.

Throughout the training, participants engaged in interactive lectures and hands-on activities that enhanced their digital literacy and promoted the responsible use of technology. The successful implementation of the program was facilitated by Mr. Van Roger B. Gutib, the BSIT Extension Coordinator, together with the active participation of the CSIT faculty members and the support of the barangay officials.

The AI-Ready Educators: Bridging Classroom Innovation and Academic Research extension program successfully concluded last June 11, 2026, with a closing ceremony celebrating the participants' achievements and commitment to integrating artificial intelligence into education. The event featured participants' learning reflections, the awarding of certificates to participants, speakers, and partners, and inspirational messages from representatives of Negros Oriental State University (NORSU) and Sibulan National High School.

A highlight of the ceremony was the AI-Ready Educators Commitment Ceremony, where participants pledged to apply their newly acquired AI knowledge and skills to enhance teaching, learning, and academic research. The program concluded with closing remarks, a photo opportunity, and a fellowship session, reinforcing collaboration among educators and NORSU's commitment to promoting innovation and digital transformation through community extension initiatives.
