: Silliman University (SU), through the Robert B. and Metta J. Silliman University Library and the Instructional Media and Technology Center (IMTC), launched two digital platforms designed to expand access to University resources and improve the delivery of academic and institutional services.
TIPIGANAN, the University’s official Institutional Repository, and the IMTC Booking Website were formally launched on August 12, 2026, at the Allied Health Engagement Hall on the first floor of the University Library.
The two platforms support the University’s continuing efforts to use technology to preserve knowledge, facilitate research, and make services more accessible to the Silliman community.
𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐫𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐧’𝐬 𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐲 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐞𝐬
TIPIGANAN serves as a centralized digital repository of SU’s scholarly, creative, cultural, historical, and research materials. Its name comes from the Cebuano word "tipiganan," which refers to a place where things are kept or preserved.
According to Dr. Rosalina Dinoy, University Librarian, the establishment of TIPIGANAN provides the University with a dedicated digital space for preserving its scholarly and institutional resources while making them more accessible to students, faculty, researchers, alumni, and other users.
Through the repository, materials of academic and historical value can be preserved digitally and made more accessible for teaching, learning, and research. The platform also provides a means of safeguarding resources that document the intellectual, creative, cultural, and historical life of the University.
Students, faculty, staff, and other bona fide members of the Silliman community may access TIPIGANAN remotely 24/7 using an internet-connected laptop, desktop computer, or tablet. Users may visit the repository website, 𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐢𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐫𝐲𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲.𝐜𝐨𝐦; select “Login”; and sign in using their active SU email accounts.
Alumni and researchers may access the repository using their Gmail accounts, while materials designated for open access may be viewed by external users even without an SU account.
For restricted or embargoed materials, outside researchers may request on-site access at the University Library, subject to approval and applicable guidelines. A daily access fee of PHP 100 applies, and an Official Receipt must be presented before the requested service is provided.
Materials available through TIPIGANAN are intended for educational, research, and personal, non-commercial use. Users are expected to properly cite materials they use and may not reproduce, redistribute, or modify repository content without the necessary permission.

Also launched was the IMTC Booking Website, an online platform that provides a more convenient way for members of the University community to access and request the facilities and services of the Center.
Rigel Suarez, director of IMTC, said the IMTC Booking Website provides a centralized way for users to access information about the Center and request its facilities and services online, helping streamline transactions between IMTC and the University units it serves.
IMTC serves as the University’s instructional technology hub, supporting faculty, students, and academic units in integrating appropriate technologies into teaching, learning, research, and community engagement.
The Center also works as a multimedia production partner, assisting in the development of videos, presentations, recordings, and other media resources for instructional and institutional use. Through its audiovisual services, IMTC provides technical and operator support for classrooms, conferences, ceremonies, seminars, cultural programs, and other University events.
Faculty, students, academic units, and other users who need IMTC facilities and services may visit 𝐢𝐦𝐭𝐜.𝐬𝐮.𝐞𝐝𝐮.𝐩𝐡 to submit their booking requests and access information about the Center’s services.
The IMTC Booking Website was developed in collaboration with the Office of Media and Public Affairs (OMPA), with Carlos S. Romarate Jr., OMPA editorial assistant, working with the Center on the project.
