A DAY MADE MEANINGFUL THROUGH SERVICE, LEARNING, AND COMMUNITY.
From learning to action, : Tapok Batok sa Lamok brought the Sillimanian community together through meaningful conversations, health initiatives, and collective action for a healthier community.
Our sincerest gratitude to the Department of Health – Negros Island Region for being an invaluable partner in making this initiative possible. To our main points of contact, Ma’am Jireh Bea Alba, Ma’am Enna Alos, and Sir Sicorbato Verbosidad, thank you for your guidance and support throughout the planning and implementation of our activities.
To our resource speakers, Doc. Jil Emmanuel B. Varon, RN, MD, Infectious Disease Cluster Head of the DOH NIR Center for Health Development, and Doc. Doreen Joan P. Lumayag, MD, Medical Officer III under the Provincial Health Office of Negros Oriental and BSF Physician under the PHO Blood Program, thank you for sharing your knowledge, expertise, and time with our community.
We are also deeply grateful to the Dumaguete City Health Office and Provincial Health Office for their partnership in our blood donation initiative, and to the Medical Technology Society for joining us in our Aedes Identification activity.
To the Silliman University Student Government, thank you for standing with us every step of the way. From coordination and preparation to the actual implementation of our activities, your support, trust, and willingness to help made such a difference. would not have been the same without you.
And to our Health Committee members, volunteers, participants, partner organizations, and everyone who contributed in ways big and small — thank you. Your time, effort, and willingness to take part are what made this possible.
More than an event, reminded us that health begins with awareness, but meaningful change happens when we choose to act together. May what we learned and shared continue beyond this day — in our classrooms, homes, and communities.
