The Silliman University Student Government Dorm Life Committee, hand in hand with the university's Student Housing and Residence Division (SHRD), is organized for the holistic development and welfare of the students living in dormitories managed and owned by the university. Protection and promotion of the interests of the dormers by properly addressing their comments, suggestion and grievances as

far as dormitory procedures and rules are concerned.

2. Spiritual growth of each dormer regardless of his/her religious affliation by encouraging attendance to weekly devotions and mid-week church services; by organizing religious-oriented programs/activities

3. Physical and social advancement of dormers by creating activities where interaction, camaraderie and oneness among fellow dorm residents are significantly improved and strengthened.

Dormers from Edith Carson Hall, Channon Hall, Larena Hall, Doltz Hall, and Vernon Hall are HIGHLY ENCOUARAGED to answer the Dormers’ Feedback Survey on Fixed Board (Dorm Food). Your honest feedback will help the committee evaluate and improve the quality of meals provided in the dormitories.

The survey link will be sent through your respective dorm group chats, so please take a few minutes to share your thoughts and suggestions. Your responses are essential in helping create a better dining experience for everyone in the coming semesters. Deadline for the answers will be on March 20, 2026, 11:00PM.

In light of the current weather situation, we strongly encourage everyone to prepare an Evacuation Go-Bag ahead of time. Having these essentials ready will help ensure your safety, comfort, and preparedness in case of emergencies.

Preparing an emergency go-bag ensures your safety, comfort, and preparedness in case of sudden evacuation or emergency situations.

As of February 5, 2026 (3:00 PM), Tropical Storm Basyang (International name: Penha) has strengthened from a tropical depression as it churns over the Philippine Sea, becoming the second tropical cyclone to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility this year.

Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 2 has been raised in Surigao del Sur and other affected areas, while coastal communities from Surigao to Negros Oriental are also bracing for possible storm surges of up to two meters.

In light of these developments, Silliman University is officially activating its designated evacuation centers to ensure the safety of all students, staff, and campus residents.
