Meet the speakers bringing the mind to the matter! 🧠

They don’t read minds, but they know a thing or two about how we develop, interact, and think. We’re bringing three distinguished speakers to the upcoming STATE OF MIND: Understanding the Psychology of Growth, Connection, and Cognition symposium, each tackling a different side of how we understand ourselves and the world around us.

From human development and social relationships to thoughts and resilience, see how these areas play out in our everyday lives.

📅 October 3, 2026 | 1:00 PM – 5:00 PM
📍 Silliman University Audio Visual Theatre (AVT)

Seats are still available, see you this October!

SUMPAY IT FORWARD!

As part of SOM:PIA’s goal to sumpay psychology with meaningful action, we are opening our Donation Drive for Phase II: Community Outreach Program.

This phase brings SOM:PIA beyond the symposium and into the community, as we extend our advocacy to the less fortunate. We hope to share care, compassion, and support with its residents through a community outreach program centered on connection, wellness, and meaningful action.

Because psychology should not end when the symposium does. It should move beyond the classroom and into the communities we serve—cultivating empathy, compassion, and the willingness to care.

To help make this outreach possible, we are accepting in-kind and monetary donations, as every contribution, big or small, can help us provide what the residents need and make this initiative more meaningful.

Let’s sumpay psychology with action 🫶

Tomorrow, September 21, we commemorate the 54th anniversary of the declaration of Martial Law in the Philippines, a dark chapter in our history marked by grave human rights violations and the suffering of countless Filipinos.

We remember the victims who endured imprisonment, torture, enforced disappearance, other abuses, and those who stood against dictatorship and fought for our freedom.

We invite all Sillimanians to wear black in remembrance of the victims of Martial Law and in defiance of the abuses that must never be repeated.

Never Again. Never Forget.

IT’S DEAF AWARENESS MONTH! 🤟❤️

Accessible communication is a right, not a privilege.

Disasters can happen anytime, and everyone deserves access to life-saving information. This Deaf Awareness Month, let us promote Filipino Sign Language (FSL), accessible communication, and inclusive disaster risk reduction (DRR).

Through visual alerts, text notifications, sign language interpretation, and inclusive planning, let us ensure that no one is left behind when disaster strikes.
