Silliman University School of Agro-Industrial and Technical Education SAITE

The newly established School of Agro-Industrial and Technical Education (SAITE) opens this June with its first set of certificate programs in agriculture. Offered are eight certificate programs developed in partnership with the College of Agriculture and are accredited by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA):

Certificate in Animal Health Care and Management NCIII (CA)

Certificate in Test Management (Vegetable) NCII (CA)

Certificate in Artificial Insemination (Swine) NCII (CA)

Certificate in Artificial Insemination (Large Ruminant) NCII (CA)

All eight are open to anyone with at least a high school diploma. TESDA scholarships can also be applied to these programs. A meeting was held recently among SAITE Director Dr. Pablito A dela Rama, Agriculture Dean Dr. Jose Edwin C. Cubelo and TESDA administrative officer Ms Beth Tubog to finalize the arrangements. SAITE was established to provide specialized training to high school graduates who may not be able to enroll in a formal four-year degree program. It seeks to develop their skills and enhance their preparedness for employment and livelihood opportunities.
