Negros Oriental State University (NORSU) hosted a specialized learning session titled "KAIZEN: Japanese Organizational Culture and Continuous Improvement" today, August 14, 2026, at the CEA-AVR, NORSU Main Campus II. Focused on the theme of cultivating discipline, quality, and institutional excellence, the seminar aimed to explore how Japanese organizational practices can be integrated into the university's operations to elevate both administrative and academic standards.

University President Dr. Noel Marjon E. Yasi delivered the welcome remarks and shared the statement of purpose, underscoring NORSU's dedication to continuous growth and operational efficiency. Following the opening, Resource speaker Atty. Ricky A. Sabornay, FCIArb, led the core module on organizational culture and continuous improvement, introducing attendees to the core principles of Kaizen. His presentation highlighted how adopting a mindset of steady, incremental improvements and structured discipline can lead to long-term organizational transformation.

The lecture was followed by an open forum and administrative discussion, providing participants with a platform to address practical applications of Kaizen within their respective units.

The session featured an intermission number and the formal presentation of a certificate and token of appreciation to Atty. Sabornay. NORSU School of Law Associate Dean Atty. Mary Sloane T. Rockwell-Callao delivered the closing remarks, summarizing the key takeaways for institutional growth, before the session concluded with a closing prayer.

On behalf of the Office of the Dean, we warmly welcome all our returning students and our newest members of the NORSU School of Law family. We wish everyone a meaningful and successful start to the semester.

Please see the attached Classroom Assignments. Effective July 6, 2026, and until further notice, these shall be your designated classrooms. Kindly take note of your assigned room and be guided accordingly.

The Negros Oriental State University (NORSU) School of Law, in coordination with the NORSU Law Juris Council, hosted a freshmen orientation and general assembly for its students on Saturday, July 4, at the University Library Conference Room.

Interim Dean Atty. Marcelino Mikhail Lee L. Maxino and Assistant Dean Atty. Mary Sloane T. Rockwell-Callao welcomed the attendees with inspiring messages. During the orientation, Maxino and Rockwell-Callao introduced the incoming first-year students to the institution, outlining academic expectations and the School of Law's retention policies.

Following the orientation, the NORSU Law Juris Council facilitated a general assembly for all law students to discuss upcoming student initiatives and the council's plans and programs for the academic year.

As per Mr. Cadapan (Registrar's Office) and Dr. Catada's (VPAA) instruction, the enrollment period is [internally] extended as detailed below:

1. Freshmen's enrollment shall conclude on Friday, next week, July 10, 2026, but shall be accommodated in the School of Law (not at the Registrar's Office, i.e., printing of load slip is in the college level); and

2. Continuing students' enrollment is permissible within the first two (2) weeks from the first day of class (until July 17, 2026 only).

3. Enrollment shall resume on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, not on Monday.
