Sinco, Foundation University opened its doors at the dawn of a new era for the Philippines, a country that emerged at the end of World War II to become Asia’s first democracy. From the beginning, the university has been a non-profit, non-sectarian institution, accessible to all. Sinco was born in Negros Oriental of modest means, and rose to become an influential figure who helped to write the Phi

lippine Constitution. He was a trusted adviser to several Philippine Presidents, and launched our country’s involvement in world affairs as the representative of the Philippines, signing the United Nations Charter in 1945. He was the Dean of Law at the University of the Philippines and served as that institution’s president from 1958-1962. For Foundation University, he envisioned a school that afforded anyone with ability and determination the opportunity for a college education, regardless of wealth or social position. He dreamed of a permanent center for teaching and learning that would help the Philippines assume its place among free nations.

Congratulations to the Foundation University College of Hospitality Management for the successful run of A Taste of FU, held last May 19, 2026, at 4:00 PM in the Sofia Soller Sinco Hall.

Plans to expand the event next year are underway to give everyone the chance to see how CHM students can perform and what their potential is once they graduate.

Foundation University President Victor Vicente “Dean” Sinco also expressed his plans to invite the students’ parents next year. “I wanted the parents to be here… This will give them a chance to see what their kids are capable of… this is proof, in a way, for the parents that their money was well spent while they were here.”

Indeed, CHM Kasaulogan 2026: A Taste of FU was a historical culinary extravaganza that highlighted the talent and potential of our CHM students, proving that students of Foundation University gain practical hands-on experience from the best mentors.

Unveiling and Turnover Ceremony of Estudio Damgo 14’s upgraded chariot for the Books on Wheels Mobile Library, held on May 17, 2026. The event started at 9:00 AM at the Valencia Paunay Plaza.

Foundation University’s Estudio Damgo is the first student-led design-build architecture studio in the Philippines. This collaboration aligns with its mission to produce architects who are not just skilled designers but also compassionate builders of change.

The Book on Wheels Mobile Library is an initiative spearheaded by the Valencia Senior Citizens Literacy Advocates (VSCLA) in partnership with Foundation University. The mobile library is designed to reach children in remote villages. It brings books in both Visayan and English directly to them, from Kindergarten to Grade 3. Besides encouraging kids to read, they do activities like role-playing, games, and art sessions.

Congratulations to Estudio Damgo and the Book on Wheels Mobile Library for this wonderful contribution to literacy and community development.

Foundation University Is Back in AmCham’s Business Leadership Program

After a seven-year hiatus, Foundation University makes a triumphant comeback to the American Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines (AmCham) Business Leadership Program (BLP), a stage renowned for shaping the nation’s brightest young leaders and future business trailblazers.

Lebron Jay M. Bantug, a BSBA Marketing Management student and President of Junior Marketing Executives, earned a spot among the Top 30 Official Trainees nationwide for the prestigious AmCham BLP.

Mr. Bantug will be traveling to Manila in June for a week-long immersive training in business and commerce, getting unmatched exposure and learning from senior executives and leaders from American and multinational companies.

This achievement marks a historic comeback. The last time a Foundationite reached this level was 7 years ago when Marco Fernando became the first AmCham BLP trainee from FU. Today, Mr. Bantug carries that legacy forward, proving that excellence in leadership remains deeply rooted in Foundation University.

Foundation University ROTC Unit has officially retained its "Outstanding" status for the 2025-2026 academic year, achieving a 94.44% rating at the Regional Annual Administrative and Tactical Inspection (RAATI), showcasing excellence, discipline, and commitment within the ROTC Unit. RAATI It is an annual evaluation conducted by the Reserve Command, Philippine Army (ARESCOM)to test the efficiency, military proficiency, and training quality of ROTC units in colleges and universities across the Philippines

This milestone shows that FUROTC does not give up easily and refuses to be defeated. They demonstrated their pride during the RAATI and left a strong mark of discipline and commitment in the activity. They proved what it truly means and why they are called cadets of Foundation University, because they are unshaken, unyielding, and never backing down. Padayon, FU ROTC!
