Sinco, Foundation University opened its doors at the dawn of a new era for the Philippines, a country that emerged at the end of World War II to become Asia’s first democracy. From the beginning, the university has been a non-profit, non-sectarian institution, accessible to all. Sinco was born in Negros Oriental of modest means, and rose to become an influential figure who helped to write the Phi

lippine Constitution. He was a trusted adviser to several Philippine Presidents, and launched our country’s involvement in world affairs as the representative of the Philippines, signing the United Nations Charter in 1945. He was the Dean of Law at the University of the Philippines and served as that institution’s president from 1958-1962. For Foundation University, he envisioned a school that afforded anyone with ability and determination the opportunity for a college education, regardless of wealth or social position. He dreamed of a permanent center for teaching and learning that would help the Philippines assume its place among free nations.

Foundation University welcomes TESDA Deputy Director General Vidal D. Villanueva III and TESDA Provincial Director Fletcher B. Gumahad.

The courtesy visit was an opportunity to express their appreciation to Foundation University for our strong support and active involvement in the recently concluded WorldSkills Competition. This gave both parties a chance to discuss potential program offerings, including the launch of new diploma programs and short courses to expand quality education and enhance workforce readiness in the region.

This recurring special event serves as our open bridge to the public and the media, where we proudly share our latest milestones, introduce new courses and academic programs, and unveil our future plans and upcoming activities.

The highlight of the day belonged to our exceptional student achievers. We officially honored Foundation University’s brand-new CIE topnotchers who dominated the 16th Certified Industrial Engineer Examination held on April 26, 2026.

Foundation University continues to expand its global reach as 16 faculty and staff members are taking part in the Global Intercultural Exchange Program in Vietnam from June 14–21, 2026.

Hosted by the Center for Sustainable Development Studies in partnership with the Global Initiative for Exchange and Development Inc. (GIED), the program brings together educators and communities to support children's learning and confidence-building through the Global Connect Camp.

They will share knowledge, encourage young learners, and learn from a community rich in culture and tradition in Chien Village, a remote settlement located in the mountainous highlands of Vietnam and home to the ethnic Muong minority.

Let’s cheer on the FU delegates as they create meaningful impact beyond borders! We are proud to support this inspiring international initiative and look forward to seeing the positive difference they make, the connections they build, and the valuable insights and experiences they bring back home.
