The Foundation University Graduate School warmly welcomed its students during the Graduate School Student Orientation held on September 12, 2026, at the PUB HUB, M5 Campus. The orientation provided essential information on the Graduate School’s VMGO, academic and institutional policies, student services, research and publication, and other matters to guide students throughout their graduate studies.

A highlight of the orientation was the message of University Chancellor Dr. Charlotte V. Cariño, who emphasized the vital role of the Graduate School in the production and contribution of new knowledge through research and publication, and in translating scholarly work into sustainable impact and meaningful transformation within the community. The event also featured the FUGS Election of Officers, encouraging student leadership and active participation in the Graduate School community.

On September 11, 2026, the Foundation University Graduate School joined the Dal-Uy Festival of Hope, a beautiful celebration where students and members of the university community gathered at Rizal Boulevard to write their wishes, dreams, and hopes on lanterns before setting them afloat on the sea.

Our Graduate School students and faculty took part in this meaningful tradition, bringing with them not only lanterns, but also the aspirations that continue to inspire their journey in graduate education.

Each lantern became a symbol of a hope yet to be realized, a dream worth pursuing, and a future worth working for. As they gently floated across the waters of Dumaguete, they carried the collective wishes of our Graduate School community—for personal growth, academic success, meaningful research, a better community, and brighter tomorrows.

The Dal-Uy Festival reminded us that while graduate education demands perseverance, scholarship, and hard work, hope remains an equally powerful force that moves us forward.

May the wishes we set afloat continue to inspire us to turn our dreams into purposeful action.

From the Graduate School community, we carry our hopes forward.

The Festival of Hope is here. One night, thousands of wishes. An unforgettable tradition that transforms the dark ocean into a sea of living stars.

Every lantern and wooden platform is crafted from eco-friendly materials. Out on the water, local fishermen in motorized boats watch over the perimeter, using nets and buoys to gently catch and retrieve every single lantern from the sea. This ensures that the only thing remaining of the night's magic is the lingering warmth in everyone's hearts.
