This morning, University President Dr. Boyet L. Batang met with Atty. Elizabeth C. Binag (Provincial Information Officer), and Dr. Jane G. Cabautan (ISU Cabagan Cluster Executive Officer) for a high-level discussion on the said venture.

The meeting focused on the Universityโ€™s critical role in sustaining and expanding the dairy initiative, which was recently lauded in national media for its remarkable success in combating malnutrition.

The discussion comes on the heels of a report highlighting that between 2022 and 2025, Isabela saw a 32.2% decrease in stunting and a 44.8% decline in wasting among children as part of Provincial Governor Rodito Albanoโ€™s visionโ€”prioritizing human investment over infrastructureโ€”which has transformed the province into a national benchmark for nutrition.

As a hub for agricultural research and extension, ISU is uniquely positioned to provide technical support for the program.

Isabela State University (ISU), through Dr. Boyet L. Batang (University President), engaged in a strategic meeting with Hon. Faustino โ€œInnoโ€ A. Dy V and the Municipal Agriculture Office (MAO) of the Local Government Unit of Echague (LGU Echague) to discuss the proposed establishment of a Rice Processing Center.

The planned facility is proposed to be constructed on University property, as part of its role as a partner in advancing agricultural development. The initiative aims to provide Echague with its own rice processing facility, separate from the existing center located in Barangay Ipil, Echague and managed by the Provincial Government of Isabela.

The proposed project is expected to significantly benefit local farmers by improving post-harvest processing, enhancing the quality of rice production, and increasing farmersโ€™ income through reduced processing costs and higher product value.

The ISU Management Committee (ManComm), led by University President Dr. Boyet L. Batang, has kicked off a series of intensive campus drives and ocular inspections this Tuesday (April 08).

Earlier this morning, the ManComm with Dr. Precy C. Delima (VP for Academic Affairs), Dr. Orlando F. Balderama (VP for Research and Extension), Dr. Hilda A. Manzolim (VP for Administrative and Finance Services), and Dr. Isagani P. Angeles, Jr. (VP for Planning and Development) spearheaded the Executive Committee Meeting at ISU Cabagan Campus. They were welcomed by the ISU Cabagan Team led by Dr. Jane G. Cabauatan (ISU Cabagan Cluster Executive Officer).

The Regional Association of SUCs (RASUC 02) comprised of Isabela State University, Batanes State College, Cagayan State University, Nueva Vizcaya State University, Philippine Normal University-North Luzon, and Quirino State University gathered for a solidarity and preparatory assembly ahead of the competition in bannering Cagayan Valley's pride.
