We have recently become aware that certain individuals or entities may be using our certificates, logos, endorsements, and/or related documents without authorization to offer laboratory services, and to market, distribute, or sell bacterial isolates.

We would like to clarify that we 𝐃𝐎 𝐍𝐎𝐓 𝐂𝐄𝐑𝐓𝐈𝐅𝐘, 𝐃𝐈𝐒𝐓𝐑𝐈𝐁𝐔𝐓𝐄, 𝐎𝐑 𝐆𝐔𝐀𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐓𝐄𝐄 the quality, safety, or authenticity of the said isolates being marketed using these unauthorized channels (i.e., Facebook Messenger and Facebook Marketplace).

Any certificate, endorsement, or document bearing our name that is not obtained directly from our official channels should be treated with caution and independently verified.

To protect the integrity of our institution and the safety of laboratory professionals, we strongly encourage all students and stakeholders to directly contact us through authorized channels. Payments for services should be made directly at our office.

The Department of Medical Microbiology, UPCPH shall not be held responsible or liable for the quality, performance, safety, efficacy, or regulatory compliance of any products sold using counterfeit, altered, misrepresented, or unauthorized copies of our documents.

We are currently investigating this matter. We reserve the right to take appropriate legal, administrative, and regulatory action against parties found to be engaging in unauthorized use, reproduction, misrepresentation, or distribution of bacterial isolates, laboratory test results, and institutional documents.

The Department of Medical Microbiology in partnership with the Commission on Higher Education will be launching a Bacteriology Course for Academicians and Researchers from selected SUCs and HEIs on January 2027. Time flies by so fast! 🥹
Our heartfelt thank you to our 2026 BS Biology Interns from UP Los Banos, (Kyrielle, Carl, Tina, Ange and Aska) for all the help you have imparted to our department during the last 6 weeks you spent with us. We also hope that you had fun learning the routine extension services and workflows on bacteriology, mycology and specialized techniques such as using DNA Extraction, ELISA, GeneXpert and VITEK. Congratulations for successfully completing your practicum and we are truly grateful you have chosen us for this important learning process in your growth as upcoming scientists or doctors!

Congratulations to all our participants of our recently concluded 4th Basic Clinical Bacteriology Training Course (July 13-17, 2026), who came in from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao! We hope everything you have gained from the course will help in your practice of your respective professions.

Congratulations to all the participants of our recently concluded 3rd Basic Clinical Bacteriology Training Course last June 22-26, 2026! It has been a fruitful and wonderful 5 days of intensive lectures and laboratory sessions, but everyone passed with flying colors and did really well in all the activities! Enjoy watching the course highlights from the course :)

We look forward to providing this training course to more healthcare professionals, academics and researchers who work on the field of clinical bacteriology!

The recently concluded 4-Day Postgraduate Mycology Course brought together physicians, healthcare professionals, medical laboratory scientists, educators, and veterinarians in an enriching learning experience of medically important fungi.

Delivered primarily through Zoom, the course featured series of lectures and discussions led by experts in the field, covering medical mycology, laboratory diagnosis, fungal identification, and current developments.

The course also had a face-to-face laboratory session held on June 5, which provided participants with the opportunity to translate theoretical concepts into practical skills through hands-on laboratory exercises, microscopic examination, and specimen processing.

A heartfelt thank you to our distinguished lecturers, facilitators, laboratory proctors and staff, and enthusiastic participants for making this course a meaningful and enriching learning experience.

Congratulations to all the participants. May the knowledge gained inspire continued inquiry, collaboration, and advancement in the field of medical mycology.
