The UP Manila Office of International and Local Linkages is pleased to announce the call for MOVE-UP FA application. Designed for undergraduate mobility runs from January to May 2026, this program helps UP students pursue international courses, thesis research, or degree-related training abroad with funding tailored to their Learning Assistance Needs (LAN) bracket, destination, and program length.

Virtual exchange opportunities are also available through the MOVE-UP+ Scholarship Grant. This track supports online courses, internships, and virtual training by covering participation and cultural immersion fees, as well as providing dedicated internet load and gadget subsidies to keep you connected.

𝗘𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗶𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆
-To be eligible for the program, the applicants must meet the following criteria:
-Enrolled as a Sophomore in UP at the time of application
-Must show strong motivation and interest to experience higher education and cultural diversity
-Cumulative GWA of 2.20 and above
-If a senior, must have a remaining of at least 36 units (exclusive of current semester)

A team of five BS Computer Science students of the Department of Physical Sciences and Mathematics won 1st Place in the DOST-NCR Regional Game Development Competition held last August 6–8, 2026 at Valenzuela City Amphitheater.

Building on the success of last year's call, four UPM students were successfully nominated and accepted to the National University of Singapore (NUS). The UP Manila Office of International and Local Linkages is pleased to announce the upcoming Call for Nominations for the DiscoverNUS Program for the Second Semester, AY 2026–2027 (January to May 2027).

DiscoverNUS is a prestigious one-semester study opportunity allowing undergraduate students from Southeast Asian partner universities to take regular courses alongside NUS and international students. Participants study as non-graduating students before returning to UP to complete their degree.

BS Computer Science Students Earn Top 10 Honors at the eGovPH Hackathon 2026

Congratulations to Team eGovMed for being named one of the Top 10 Winning Teams at the eGovPH Hackathon 2026, held on 21-22 July 2026, at the SMX Convention Center Aura Taguig City. Team eGovMed is composed of Matthew Labrador, Clarence Pagaduan, Paul Recio, and Harry Gomez together with Javier Mendoza of De La Salle University Taft.

Dr. Geoffrey Solano won the Excellent Paper Award during the International Conference on Artificial Intelligence in Information Communication 2026 held in Tokyo, Japan last February 24-27, 2026.

His research entitled “Exploring the Role of Transposons in Predicting Antimicrobial Resistance in Tuberculosis and Its Co-infections Using Explainable Machine Learning” bested other papers from Japan, South Korea and other countries. ICAIIC 2026 is the 8th edition of the conference. It focuses on advances in ICT research, covering topics from core ICT technology to emerging AI applications for ICTs. It organized by the Korean Institute of Communications and Information Sciences (KICS), Tokyo University of Science, Japan, and Kookmin University, Korea, and technically co-sponsored by IEEE ComSoc, IEICECS, and the IEICE NOLTA Society.

Announcement from the Office of International and Local Linkages.

We are pleased to invite interested UP Manila undergraduate students to apply for the student outbound exchange at the National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYMCTU) in Taiwan for the 2026 Fall Inbound Exchange Program.

The tuition for the program will be waived by the host institution for the nominated UP Manila students, and students are free to register for courses at the entire university, regardless of departments and campuses, with a minimum credit load (per semester): 9 credits for undergraduate students / 2 courses for graduate students.

UP Manila OILL will select two (2) qualified students from all applicants. The selected students will then be endorsed directly to NYMCTU.

Selected applicants may apply for MOVE-UP Financial Assistance. The grant may cover the fees for insurance, roundtrip Airfare (Economy), and monthly accomodation and living allowance. The entitlements and the corresponding amount to be awarded to successful MOVE-UP Financial Assistance applications is based on the Grant-in-Aid Learning Assistance Needs (LAN) Bracket of the applicants, location of host university, and the duration of the mobility.

Deadline for UP Manila MOVE-UP Financial Assistance application: April 09, 2026 (Thursday).
