CHEDRO-XVIII (NIR) visits MCCEI for Compliance Monitoring 📚

Commission on Higher Education Regional Office – NIR successfully conducted an institutional monitoring visit at Mount Carmel College of Escalante Inc. to assess compliance across various areas and programs of the institution, including Student Affairs and Services. The activity was marked by the active participation and full cooperation of different offices and units led by Rev. Fr. Jonathan S. Serofia, O.Carm., School President, reflecting the institution’s unified commitment to quality assurance and continuous improvement.

The visit ensures that MCCEI aligns with prescribed standards in student welfare, academic programs, and support services, while remaining responsive to the changing needs of learners and the evolving demands of higher education. It also served as a valuable platform for dialogue, validation of institutional practices, and identification of areas for further enhancement.

Moreover, the monitoring activity created an opportunity to extend technical support and strengthen engagement between the institution and the Commission, fostering a collaborative approach in advancing the delivery of inclusive, responsive, and high-quality higher education.

Congratulations to the newly elected Prior Provincial and Council of the Philippine Carmelites!

Congratulations also to Rev. Fr. Irvin S. Mangmang, OCarm our VP for Finance and Administration for being elected as First Councilor!

PHILIPPINE CARMELITES ELECT NEW PRIOR PROVINCIAL AND COUNCIL: The Philippine Carmelite Province of St. Titus Brandsma is pleased to announce the conclusion of its 5th Provincial Chapter and the election of its new Prior Provincial and Council.

The following were elected to lead the province for the triennium 2026 - 2029:

Prior Provincial: Fr. Noel Rosas, O.Carm.
1st Councilor: Fr. Irvin Mangmang, O.Carm.
2nd Councilor: Fr. Melvin Lorono, O.Carm.
3rd Councilor: Fr. Sheldon Tabile, O.Carm.
4th Councilor: Fr. Edwin Magbago, O.Carm.

Extended Councilors:
Br. Sanny Gie Calacar, O.Carm. (representing simple professed)
Ms. Angela Ureta, a.O.Carm (representing lay associates)

The week-long event was graced by the presence of Fr. Desiderio García Martínez, O. Carm., prior general and president of the Chapter, and Fr. Robert Thomas Puthussery, O. Carm., councilor for Asia–Australia–Oceania.

In his address before the election, the Prior General reminded the "gremiales" that service, unity and humility were the foundations of authority, and that the provincial leadership should be the first to “put on the work apron” to serve their brothers and sisters.
