✨IMPRESSION✨

Throughout our internship journey, the word that resonates profoundly is the word "reflection." Our experience has been a transformative and enlightening process that has allowed us to grow personally and professionally. From the beginning, we embarked on this journey with curiosity, eagerness, and a thirst for knowledge. As we engaged in our daily tasks and interacted with colleagues, mentors, and the work itself, we learned to pause and reflect on the lessons we were absorbing. Reflection became a guiding principle, urging us to dig deeper into our experiences, question assumptions, and uncover valuable insights.

We learned to recognize the significance of reflection in fostering culture, gender-inclusive, and peace lens. It allowed us to understand our strengths and areas for improvement, allowing us to adapt and refine our skills. Through honest introspection, we identified the passion that drives us, the places where we excel, and the aspects that ignite our curiosity, thus paving the way for future growth.

Moreover, as Iskolar ng Bayan and future educators, we acted as a bridge to connect theory with practice. It helped us bridge the gap between the knowledge we acquired in classrooms and the real-world challenges we encountered during our internship. By reflecting on our experiences, we could extract meaningful lessons, understand the complexities of our work, and identify strategies for improvement. Beyond personal development, reflection fostered collaboration and enhanced our ability to work effectively in a team. By openly sharing our thoughts with our colleagues, we gained fresh perspectives, discovered shared experiences, and collectively learned from one another. This process strengthened our bonds and allowed us to tap into the collective wisdom of our team, fostering an environment of continuous learning.

As our internship journey ends, the practice of reflection will remain etched in our minds and hearts. It has become a valuable tool for growth, learning, and self-discovery. The power of thought lies in its ability to transform experiences into profound lessons, providing us with a compass to navigate future endeavors with clarity and purpose. May the habit of reflection guide us on our lifelong learning journey, shaping us into compassionate, resilient, and insightful individuals ready to positively impact the world.

Thus, we thank Dadiangas West Central Elementary School for this partnership. From the beginning, you welcomed us into your classroom with open arms, creating a nurturing and collaborative environment where we could learn and thrive. Your willingness to share your wealth of knowledge, teaching strategies, and classroom management techniques has been instrumental in shaping our teaching skills.

We want to express our heartfelt appreciation for our cooperating teacher for being a mentor, role model, and friend. Your impact on our professional growth and personal development is immeasurable, and we will carry the lessons we have learned from you throughout our teaching career. We wanted to express my deepest gratitude for your invaluable guidance and support throughout our time as a student teacher. Your dedication, expertise, and unwavering commitment to our growth and development have profoundly impacted our teaching journey.

From the moment we stepped on campus, we were greeted with warmth, inclusivity, and a vibrant community fostering learning and personal development. The dedicated BEED faculty, supportive staff, and fellow students have made my time at the College of Education memorable.

We are grateful for the exceptional professors who have imparted knowledge and challenged me to think critically, explore new perspectives, and push the boundaries of my intellectual curiosity. Their passion for their respective fields of study and unwavering commitment to student success has inspired us to strive for excellence in all aspects of my academic journey. Kudos to all BEED Faculty and lecturers for molding us to become the country's game-changer, change-maker, and peacemakers.

Together, let us march forward, carrying the torch of culture, gender inclusivity, and peace within the confines of schools and wherever our paths may lead us. Let us be champions of diversity, fostering an environment where every voice is heard and respected. By embracing our differences, we can build bridges of understanding and promote a world where equality and harmony prevail. As we march, let our actions speak louder than words, inspiring others to join us toward a brighter, more inclusive future.

The Pinggang Pinoy Challenge: Embracing Wholesome Filipino Cuisine

In the bustling archipelago of the Philippines, a cultural revolution is underway—one that celebrates the vibrant flavors and nourishing qualities of traditional Filipino cuisine. At the forefront of this movement is the Pinggang Pinoy Challenge, an initiative that invites individuals to rediscover the essence of wholesome living through mindful eating.

The Pinggang Pinoy Challenge encapsulates more than just a mere culinary experience; it represents a profound connection to Filipino heritage, community, and well-being. The challenge revolves around the concept of "Pinggang Pinoy," which translates to "Filipino plate." It emphasizes a balanced meal composed of specific food groups, offering a comprehensive and nutritious approach to eating.

At the heart of the Pinggang Pinoy Challenge lies a celebration of locally sourced ingredients. From the vibrant tropical fruits and vegetables to the nourishing proteins, the challenge highlights the incredible bounty that the Philippine soil has to offer. By embracing the rich diversity of local produce, participants not only contribute to sustainable agriculture but also support local farmers and their communities.

The Pinggang Pinoy Challenge encourages individuals to be mindful of portion sizes and the proportions of different food groups on their plates. The recommended Pinggang Pinoy composition consists of a combination of Go, Grow, and Glow foods. The "Go" foods, which include grains and cereals, provide energy and fuel for the body. "Grow" foods, such as lean meat, poultry, and fish, support muscle development and repair. Lastly, "Glow" foods, like fruits and vegetables, are packed with essential vitamins and minerals that enhance overall well-being.

Furthermore, the Pinggang Pinoy Challenge fosters a sense of community and togetherness. In the age of fast food and convenience-driven lifestyles, the Pinggang Pinoy Challenge stands as a beacon of hope, promoting the revival of Filipino culinary traditions and encouraging a return to the wholesome roots of our food culture.

In line with the incoming Practice Teaching Culmination, the Elgen-B enthusiastically joins the Pinggang Pinoy Challenge and embark on a transformative journey of wholesome living, where the plate becomes a canvas for embracing the flavors, traditions, and wellness of Filipino cuisine. Let us savor the vibrant tapestry of our food culture, nourish our bodies and souls, and pave the way for a healthier, more connected future.

"Embrace the Pinoy spirit and join the thrilling Pinggang Pinoy Challenge, celebrating the vibrant flavors and wholesome goodness of Filipino cuisine! Dive into a plateful of nutrition, cultural heritage, and community, as we savor the essence of a healthy Filipino lifestyle together. 🇵🇭💪

“sustainABLE”

We live in a world of increasing globalization, interdependence and shared resources. We also live in a world that is increasingly in danger of ecological collapse due to human activities. Ecological peace is essential for human survival and cannot be achieved without global cooperation.

The term “ecological peace” is used to describe a state of harmony between humans and the environment. It implies a balance between human activities and nature’s own system of checks and balances. Humans need access to fresh water, healthy soils, clean air and biodiversity for ecosystem services like food production and water purification. We need to protect the habitats of other species, and ensure their continued survival, to maintain the health of the planet.

Unfortunately, human-induced global warming, rising sea levels, deforestation, pollution, soil degradation and other changes in the environment have significantly destabilized the delicate balance between humans and the environment. This has caused extreme weather patterns, loss of biodiversity and a disruption of the natural order of things.

The most important step towards ecological peace is to implement policies that reduce our human impact on the environment. This must begin with a collective rethinking of our relationship to nature and an acceptance of our responsibility as stewards of our planet.

In line with the incoming Practice Teaching Culmination, the ELGENB strongly supports and advocate for the “NO PLASTIC POLICY” during the said activity with the cooperating school (Dadiangas West Central Elementary School) and business organization (Mel’s Catering and Party Needs).

Furthermore, the ELC197 students, faculty along with the cooperating school Dadiangas West Central Elementary School, aims to amplify the clamor of this recurring social issue through supporting the utilization and promotion of sustainable materials through various programs and activities. We believe that we must enable ecological peace to be part of the literacy and lifestyle of each and everyone of us and consider this through our individual and collective decision making for the betterment of our planet, the Earth.
