The College Curriculum Catalogs, an initiative led by the Center for Curriculum Studies and Instructional Designing (CCSID) in close collaboration with the Curriculum Committees of the ten colleges of Mindanao State University – General Santos, were approved by the Academic Planning Committee during its meeting held at the Conference Room on January 29, 2026.
On behalf of CCSID Director Dr. Michael B. Cahapay, the catalogs were presented by Dr. Ian Jay Sunio, member of the Campus Curriculum Committee (CCC). Each catalog features the college profile, the institutional Outcomes-Based Education framework, program offerings and outcomes, curriculum maps, programs of study, and course codes, titles, descriptions, requisites, and units. It also outlines the systems for measuring the attainment of outcomes and for continuous quality improvement.
The College Curriculum Catalogs are the product of a six-month development process that included document benchmarking of quality assurance curriculum requirements and model curriculum catalogs, two-week series of university-wide workshop on catalog development, successive stages of college-based data collection and content development, presentations and feedback from the CCC, technical review of the CCSID, and iterative revisions and finalization through close coordination between the CCCs and CCSID.
The development of the College Curriculum Catalogs was made possible through the strong support of the Office of the Vice Chancellor of Academic Affairs and active engagement of the department, college, and campus curriculum committees, composed of the respective deans, department chairpersons, program coordinators, and faculty members. Their collective expertise and sustained collaboration ensured that the catalogs were academically sound, aligned with quality assurance standards, and responsive to institutional and disciplinary requirements.
This initiative directly supports Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4: Quality Education by strengthening curriculum coherence, transparency, and quality assurance, and contributes to SDG 16: Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions through institutionalized, evidence-based academic planning and governance.
