Today's the day the whole nation has anticipatedβwhen our right to suffrage is exercised, the right to decide what our next six years would be like. ππ¨πππ²'π¬ ππ‘π ππππ ππππππππ πππ.
Before going to your respective polling places, here are some important reminders from the COMELEC guidelines you may want to be reminded of again.
1. Do not wear a shirt with your candidates' names. Wear a neutral-colored shirt to be safe.
2. Do not bring your candidates' cardboard fans to cool yourself down in the voting precinct.
3. Write your candidates' names on a piece of paper. Do not use your cellular phones. Bawal po kumodigo sa telepono.
4. Wait by the machine until it reads your vote and gives you your receipt. Maski daw po ulitin ito ng 4 beses, gawin hanggaβt mabasa ng makina ang boto ninyo.
5. Huwag boboto ng sobra lalo sa senatorial slate. Kapag sobra ay mai-invalid ang boto ninyo sa buong category.
6. Do not take a photo of your ballot nor its receipt. Your finger with indelible ink would be enough to serve as your proof and souvenir of your right to suffrage.
7. Use the official Comelec pen to shade your ballot! The machine will only recognize the official pen! The ballot itself must be shaded with an official Comelec pen which is the only one that the voting machine can read. Ordinary pens cannot be used on the ballot.
DO NOT FORGET TO:
β’ Check your ballot, front and back, if they are already pre-shaded. Make sure to do it WHILE in front of the election officer
β’ Avoid wearing colors representing your candidate. Stay unidentifiable to ensure nobody will attempt to tamper with your ballot according to your color of choice. (Not saying this will happen, but better be safe).
β’ Check your receipt before leaving and make sure it's the same as what you shaded.
Voting starts at 6 AM and ends at 7 PM. You may cast your vote within that time frame.
Bear in mind that to vote freely is not only a right but a responsibility.
