GENERAL SANTOS CITY โ The Philippine Nursing Association of America Foundation (PNAAF) successfully conducted its Education Outreach Program on January 29, 2026, at the Mindanao State University (MSU) College of Medicine Auditorium, demonstrating the resilience and dedication of the local healthcare and academic community despite recent seismic activity and regional safety advisories.
To ensure inclusivity and accessibility for participants affected by travel restrictions and safety protocols, the program was simultaneously livestreamed, allowing students and professionals across the region to engage in the discussions and learning sessions in real time.
The outreach, organized in collaboration with PNAAF, HINABI, and the MSUโGeneral Santos College of Health Sciences, gathered a diverse group of aspiring and practicing healthcare professionals. Participants included nursing students from Ramon Magsaysay Memorial College, Notre Dame of Dadiangas University, Brokenshire College SOCSKSARGEN Inc., and General Santos Doctors Medical School Foundation, Inc. The event was further enriched by the presence of registered nurses from various healthcare institutions in the city including nurses from Dr. Jorge P. Royeca City Hospital all coming together to gain insights into global nursing standards and advanced clinical practices.
Leading the PNAAF delegation were distinguished professionals Dr. Bob Gahol, Ruth Alea, Dr. Alicia Tullo, Nancy Hoff, Mindy Ofiana, Teresa Damito, and Darlene Dilangalen Borromeo. Through lectures, discussions, and shared experiences, the group emphasized the importance of bridging local nursing education with international best practices, inspiring participants to pursue excellence in their professional journeys.
The organizers also expresses their sincere gratitude to the Office of the Chancellor, led by Atty. Shidik T. Abantas, and the Office of the Vice Chancellor, headed by Dr. Michelle D. Lawas for their unwavering support and assistance in making the event possible. Appreciation is also extended to ADPCN Board of Director Dr. Aries Baldonado and the Philippine Nurses Association (PNA) General Santos Chapter for their continued commitment to nursing education, leadership, and professional development in the region.
