Demonstrating its commitment to community service and humanitarian response, Pacific Southbay College, Inc. (PSCI) conducted a relief goods distribution activity for earthquake-affected families in Purok Saeg, Barangay Calumpang, General Santos City.

The outreach initiative aimed to provide immediate assistance to residents who continue to recover from the effects of the recent strong earthquake that struck Mindanao. Families received essential food items and basic necessities to help address their immediate needs during this challenging period.

The activity was spearheaded by the College Administration ,BSSW Department, Supreme Student Council, faculty members and student volunteers, reflecting the institutionโ€™s dedication to extending support beyond the classroom and fostering the spirit of compassion and bayanihan within the community.

Purok Saeg is among the communities in General Santos City that have experienced the impacts of disasters in recent years, making relief and recovery efforts especially significant for affected residents.

School administration expressed their gratitude to all donors, partners, and volunteers whose generosity made the relief operation possible. They emphasized that every contribution, regardless of size, serves as a beacon of hope for families facing difficult circumstances.

Through initiatives such as this, Pacific Southbay College continues to uphold its mission of social responsibility, community engagement, and service to humanity, reaffirming its commitment to helping vulnerable sectors and promoting resilience among local communities.

As recovery efforts continue, the institution remains steadfast in supporting affected families and encourages the community to sustain the spirit of unity and cooperation in times of need.

In a remarkable display of compassion and solidarity, Pacific Southbay College, Inc. (PSCI) conducted a relief goods distribution activity for students and families affected by the recent 7.8 magnitude earthquake that struck Southern Mindanao.

The relief initiative was spearheaded by the Bachelor of Science in Social Work (BSSW) Program together with dedicated faculty members who voluntarily offered their time, effort, and resources to assist those in need. Guided by the principles of social responsibility and community service, the student volunteers and teachers worked hand in hand in organizing, packing, and distributing relief goods to affected students.

The relief packages consisted of essential food items and other basic necessities aimed at providing immediate assistance to students and their families as they recover from the impact of the disaster.

The activity reflects PSCI's commitment to nurturing not only academic excellence but also humanitarian values among its students. Through the leadership of the BSSW Program and the generosity of volunteer teachers, the college community demonstrated the importance of empathy, service, and collective action during times of crisis.

Beneficiaries expressed their heartfelt gratitude for the assistance, emphasizing how the relief goods helped ease some of the challenges brought about by the disaster. With hearts committed to service, the PSCI Gender and Human Well-being (GaHW) Center takes the lead in the relief initiative for families affected by the recent earthquake in Mindanao, in partnership with the Bachelor of Science in Social Work (BSSW) program of Pacific Southbay College, Inc., through its Junior Social Workersโ€™ Association of the Philippines (JSWAP) โ€“ PSCI Chapter, together with the faculty.

Every relief pack prepared represents more than essential supplies; it carries compassion, hope, and the reminder that no community has to face hardship alone. Through the collective efforts of our volunteers and the generosity of our donors, we are able to extend support to those in need.
