Congratulations to our BS Psychology Batch 2026 Alumna, Ms. Roshel Jane E. Estojero! You are a true inspiration to your fellow Samuelians and the entire community!

BREADWINNER FINALLY GRADUATES ๐ŸŽ“

Before Roshel Jane โ€œRJโ€ Estojero earned her diploma, she helped keep her family afloat.

As the eldest of five siblings, RJ became a breadwinner in Grade 11 during the pandemic. Her mother faced health concerns, while her fatherโ€™s income as a fish vendor was not enough for the family.

RJ worked as a McDonaldโ€™s service crew member and tutored elementary pupils struggling with printed modules. Despite everything, she graduated from Del Pilar Academy with High Honors and received the Gerry Roxas Leadership Award.

She later qualified for BA Broadcasting at PUP Sta. Mesa, but poverty nearly ended that dream. Their electricity was disconnected for almost three and a half months, meals were scarce, and her siblings depended on her.

โ€œI thought it would be better not to continue college because my siblings might go hungry,โ€ she recalled.

With help from an aunt, RJ retrieved her credentials and enrolled at Samuel Christian College of General Trias, Inc. Since state university applications had closed, she pursued BS Psychologyโ€”not her original dream, but a chance to finish college.

Her college life became a cycle of classes, night shifts, long commutes, and little sleep. During her first year, she attended classes daily, slept briefly, then reported for a midnight shift before returning to school.

Still, she became a Deanโ€™s Lister with a 1.42 average.

RJ later served as a student assistant, SPES beneficiary, student leader, and two-term Psychology Student Association president. By fourth year, she was balancing internship duties, thesis writing, mock boards, and another night-shift job.

On June 30, 2026, RJ graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology.

She may not have received Latin honors after missing an activity because she chose work, but she carried victories no medal could fully measure.

RJ finished college as a four-time Deanโ€™s Lister, leadership awardee, Best Research Presenter, Rank 9 in their qualifying examination, and Associate Certified Practitioner in Human Resources.

Her diploma was earned through sleepless nights, difficult choices, tears, faith and her refusal to let poverty decide how her story would end.

Behind every plate of rice is a journey of perseverance that often goes unseen. Long before the harvest, farmers spend countless hours preparing the land, planting each seedling by hand, and enduring the heat of the sun, unpredictable weather, and physically demanding work. Despite these challenges, they continue to cultivate the fields with resilience, knowing that their efforts help feed countless families.

The ๐˜”๐˜ข-๐˜ฎ๐˜ขโ€™๐˜ด ๐˜๐˜ฐ๐˜ฑ๐˜ฆ ๐˜๐˜ข๐˜ท๐˜ฆ๐˜ฏ ๐˜ฐ๐˜ง ๐˜•๐˜ฐ๐˜ณ๐˜ธ๐˜ข๐˜บ and ๐˜›๐˜ฉ๐˜ฆ ๐˜๐˜ฐ๐˜ฑ๐˜ฆโ€™๐˜ด ๐˜๐˜ข๐˜ท๐˜ฆ๐˜ฏ ๐˜๐˜ฏ๐˜ต๐˜ฆ๐˜จ๐˜ณ๐˜ข๐˜ต๐˜ฆ๐˜ฅ ๐˜ˆ๐˜จ๐˜ณ๐˜ช-๐˜๐˜ข๐˜ณ๐˜ฎ ๐˜—๐˜ณ๐˜ฐ๐˜ซ๐˜ฆ๐˜ค๐˜ต opened an opportunity for students to step into the fields and experience the value of agriculture beyond the classroom. More than learning the process of rice planting, the activity became a meaningful reminder of the dedication, patience, and sacrifices that farming demands every single day.

As today's generation continues to shape tomorrow's future, may this experience encourage more young people to appreciate agriculture, respect the hands that feed the nation, and recognize that supporting farmers means securing food for generations to come.

To every farmer whose hard work often goes unnoticed, your dedication is the foundation of every harvest and the hope of every Filipino table.
